Women’s commission cracks down! Ranveer Allahbadia and two others face consequences for skipping hearing

The Women’s Commission has recently called several popular YouTubers and content creators such as Ranveer Allahabadia, Samay Raina, and Apoorva Makhija for making objectionable comments on Raina’s show India Ka Latent. But none of them showed up before the commission on the said date of February 17, 2025. Therefore, the commission has now fixed fresh hearing dates with the accused individuals.

Postponed Hearings and Absenteeism
Most of the influencers who were called in mentioned personal security, previous travel plans, and other issues as reasons for not attending. Ranveer Allahabadia, who was allegedly threatened with death, asked for a three-week respite. His hearing is now fixed for March 6, 2025. Apoorva Makhija, too, citing security reasons, asked to appear virtually for the hearing, which was allowed, with her hearing also fixed for March 6.

Samay Raina, who is in the U.S. currently, promised the commission that he would appear once he returned. His hearing has been scheduled for March 11, 2025. Jaspreet Singh, who is on a Paris tour until March 10, will also present himself before the commission on March 11.

Legal Proceedings Against Other Influencers
Ashish Chanchlani, who was indisposed, had his hearing deferred to March 6. But Tushar Pujari and Saurabh Bothra failed to respond to notices, so the commission served them new notices for the same date.

At the same time, Balraj Ghai, who is out of the country, has a bail plea for hearing on March 11.

The Women’s Commission has shown its discontent with the non-appearance and is set to go ahead with legal action against defaulters.
