Prime Video is ready to release its new supernatural horror-investigation series Andhera on August 14. Featuring Prajakta Koli, Surveen Chawla, Priya Bapat, and Karanvir Malhotra, the eight-episode series will be an immersive combination of suspense, horror, and psychological drama.
Andhera also includes Vatsal Sheth, Parvin Dabas, and Pranay Pachauri in main roles. The series is created by Gaurav Desai, Raaghav Dar, Chintan Sarda, and Karan Anshuman and directed by Raaghav Dar.
Creator Gaurav Desai shared that the project is close to his heart. “I’ve always been fascinated by horror and the supernatural, and Andhera allowed us to explore a kind of fear that’s quiet but lasting,” he said. “We focused on crafting a story that lingers—one that gets under your skin with tension, emotion, and subtle terror.”
The story is propelled by slow reveals, great characters, and intensely human feelings, as per Desai. “The cast was full of authenticity and depth to each scene, and our crew worked hard to build a world that feels both creepy and real,” he continued.
Directed by Ritesh Sidhwani, Farhan Akhtar, Kassim Jagmagia, Mohit Shah, and Karan Anshuman of Excel Entertainment, Andhera delves into darkness within as deep as into horror outside. “It’s not a supernatural thriller—it’s a multi-layered tale about power, fear, and the human mind,” declared Executive Producer Kassim Jagmagia.
Prime Video’s Nikhil Madhok was looking forward to the project, describing it as a gripping and engaging drama. “We are excited again to partner with Excel Entertainment to present a gritty and emotionally charged story to our audience,” he stated.
With its strong cast and eerie storyline, Andhera is set to reimagine Indian horror narrative.
