Winona Ryder is officially joining the cast of Wednesday for its highly anticipated third season. The news was confirmed as production kicked off near Dublin, Ireland, with Ryder set to appear in a recurring guest role.
Ryder’s casting adds star power to the series just as filming begins, and it reunites her with longtime collaborator and executive producer Tim Burton as well as with Jenna Ortega, who stars as the title character Wednesday Addams.
This marks another pairing of Ryder and Burton after working together on multiple past projects, including Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice.
According to Netflix and press announcements, Ryder will play a character named Tabitha, although further details about the role are still under wraps.
Series co-creators Al Gough and Miles Millar praised her addition, calling her a perfect fit for the show’s dark and quirky world and highlighting her deep experience portraying unconventional characters.
Season 3 is shaping up to be one of the biggest yet, bringing back beloved cast members such as Catherine Zeta-Jones as Morticia Addams, Luis Guzmán as Gomez Addams, and Emma Myers as Enid Sinclair.
