If you are directing your first film or web series and you get a chance to direct superstars like Shahrukh Khan, Aamir Khan, Salman Khan, Karan Johar, Ranbir Kapoor and Ranveer Singh, then you can only be Shahrukh Khan’s son. Bollywood’s King Shahrukh Khan’s son Aryan Khan has entered the film industry as a director through a web series. Aryan Khan’s highly anticipated series The Ba**ds of Bollywood has been released. The series also stars Lakshya Lalwani, Sahher Bambba, Bobby Deol, and Raghav Juyal, among others. The biggest surprise is that guest appearances of Shahrukh Khan, Aamir Khan and Salman Khan are also seen in it.
Story
Directed and co-written by Aryan Khan, this satirical action-comedy tells the story of a young boy who dreams of becoming a superstar in the city of dreams, Mumbai. Aasman, also known as Lakshya, has begun his Bollywood career and has already had one successful film. Aasman secures a three-film deal from producer Freddy Sodawala’s company, but Karan Johar offers him a single film. Now Lakshya is faced with the dilemma of how to cancel Freddy Sodawal’s three-film deal and do Karan’s film. The Ba**ds of Bollywood stars superstar Ajay Talwar’s daughter, Karishma. Ajay Talwar is against his daughter Karishma and Aasman’s film. Bobby Deol plays Ajay Talwar. As the story unfolds, a major mistake by the hero entangles him in the dark and chaotic world of Bollywood. Will he be able to uncover the truth behind the glamour? And when a powerful producer and superstar set out to destroy his career, will he be able to persevere? This seven-episode series chronicles his journey.
Acting
Lakshya portrays his young actor role with ease and effectiveness. Raghav Juyal brings remarkable balance to the role of Parvez. Raghav’s character is fun, sharp, and a bit quirky, and he’s brilliantly portrayed. Sanya Ahmed makes a good impression as manager Anya Singh. She looks like a manager for a starlet. Sahher Bambba plays the role of nepotism kid Karishma Talwar well, and Bobby Deol fits the role of a superstar perfectly. Manoj Pahwa is brilliant as a failed singer, and Rajat Benti makes a strong impression as a former star. Mona Singh, who plays the mother of the film’s protagonist, Asman Singh, is impressive. Vijayanta Kohli is excellent as Lakshya’s father, and Gautami Kapoor does a good job in a small role. Manish Choudhary is absolutely perfect as producer Freddy Sodawala. Karan Johar plays his real-life self in this film, and he’s just as engaged in this series as we’ve seen him for years in the media, at press conferences, and on TV. Arshad Warsi plays the underworld don admirably.
Stars like Shah Rukh Khan, Aamir Khan, and Salman Khan make guest appearances. Emraan Hashmi also makes a cameo appearance in the series, playing the intimate coach.
Writing and direction
Aryan Khan, along with Bilal Siddiqui and Manav Chauhan, has written and directed this story. BA ** DS of Bollywood is his debut project, but does not seem to have a first -time job from anywhere. He may have benefited from Shahrukh Khan being the son, but the idea was completely his and he has done it in a very accurate way. This story is about the film industry and the way he has attacked every aspect is a comfortable. In the fast pace story, aspects such as sharp humor, ambition, power and fame price are thrilling in an exciting manner.
This tremendous mixture of comedy and thrill gives the audience a glimpse of the hidden ‘truth’ behind Bollywood along with entertainment. Spicy cameo entry and adventure satire make it spicy.
Aryan Khan has presented all the issues that are often criticized by Bollywood. The speed of the first 3 episodes is good. The fourth episode seems a little drawn but in the fifth episode, the story has gained momentum again. It would definitely say that the length of this series could have been slightly reduced, especially between 4 episodes from 7 episodes. As a director, Aryan’s hold on the series is clearly visible and he has used every character very carefully.
Overall
Aryan Khan has shown the tableau of Bollywood’s streets in his first series that may not have been expected to them because they themselves have grown up in this institution. And for this they should be shy. Aryan has spoken easily on every issue of the film industry. From nepotism to star kids and their parents, the struggle of new artists, factionalism and politics of the industry, everything has been introduced with sharpness with sharpness.
The darkness of the life of the stars lost in oblivion also looks effectively through the character of Rajat Bedi. The first frame holds this series and one is seen to be seen one after the other. You can also call it a fun spoof on Bollywood, where the darkness behind glamor is completely revealed. The pressure of the underworld on the film industry is also openly depicted.
The series is titled The Bads of Bollywood. The word “Bads” here stands for “bastared.” I believe Aryan Khan has created this show with impunity. Yes, some places don’t seem logical, and some moments can be a bit over-the-top. The episode begins with abusive language that continues until the climax. But if you look at it as a spoof, it’s fun. While the climax could have been better, there are plenty of funny and entertaining moments throughout the show that keep you hooked.
After watching this series, you will feel that you have experienced the reality of Bollywood closely throughout the series, hence it gets 3.5 stars.
