Alicia Vikander loves big adventure films

0

Oscar winning actress Alicia Vikander says she loves independent and arthouse cinema, but is also attracted towards the big adventure films.

The actress, who will be soon seen as Lara Croft in the forthcoming film TOMB RAIDER, also shared that she found training and muscle-building exercise for the role, empowering.

"My mother, who's an actress (Maria Fahl Vikander), introduced me to the world of theatre and film. I loved independent, arthouse films, but like most people, I also loved being drawn into big adventure films, like the 'Indiana Jones' movies," Alicia said in a statement.

"So, with TOMB RAIDER, I had the chance to work on something that's very different from my previous work, but which has long been close to my heart: a big action and adventure film," she added.

"Tomb Raider" is based on a popular reboot of a video game with the same name. The Warner Bros. Pictures project will release in India on March 9.

Talking about her role, the actress said: "Along with that came the opportunity to explore my physical side on a film. I come from a dancing background, so when I learned that playing Lara would involve three or four months to get in shape – well, that kind of preparation and the chance to create a new physique are gifts.

"I found the training and muscle-building to be empowering."

TOMB RAIDER is directed by Roar Uthaug with Oscar-winner Graham King producing under his GK Films banner. It also features Dominic West, Walton Goggins, Daniel Wu and Nick Frost.

Model Kendall Jenner says she has always been a hypochondriac.

In an episode of "Keeping Up With the Kardashians", the 22-year-old said that she doesn't even like going out of the house any more. She also admitted opening up about her feelings was the first step to dealing with them, reports femalefirst.co.uk.

She said: "Since I was a kid, I've always been a hypochondriac. I've always been the worst hypochondriac. But now I have to try and be a big girl."

The reality TV star had hundreds of dollars of jewellery stolen from her home last year, while her older sister Kim Kardashian West was robbed at gunpoint in Paris in 2016, and all that has contributed to Kendall feeling unsafe.

She said: "There's a lot that happened this past year, starting with like, Kim's robbery. Then I got robbed, and I had my stalkers. That's why I don't really like going out anymore. That's why I don't tweet, that's why I don't Instagram. That gives me anxiety, too. I swear, it's the craziest thing."

Homi Adajania to direct Irrfan Khan in HINDI MEDIUM sequel

0

Director Homi Adajania, who made his directorial debut with Saif Ali Khan starrer BEING CYRUS in 2005 has been finalized to direct the sequel to HINDI MEDIUM, the film that bagged the Best Film Award at the 63rd Filmfare Award earlier this year.

Produced by T-Series’ Bhushan Kumar and Maddock Films' Dinesh Vijan, HINDI MEDIUM 2 promises to be wackier than HINDI MEDIUM.

Confirming the news producer Bhushan Kumar shared, "Having Homi on board as the director for HINDI MEDIUM 2 is a blessing. I loved his black humour in his debut film BEING CYRUS. He brings a distinct quirky quality to all the films he has directed so far. That certain mad quality he instills in his films is something I am sure HINDI MEDIUM 2 will benefit from."

HINDI MEDIUM, after its stupendous run at the box office is now recognized as a successful brand. The film not only won the Best Film trophy at the 63rd Filmfare Award, it also fetched Irrfan the Best Actor Award.
Producer Dinesh Vijan adds, “Homi doesn’t make films very often as he refuses to do stuff that doesn’t bowl him over. But when we narrated this one to him, he loved it. And when we saw his reaction, it was a no-brainer! Homi was the most unlikely choice for HINDI MEDIUM 2 and that’s exactly why we have signed him on.”

The rest of the cast of the film is yet to be finalized but buzz is that Amrita Singh and Saif Ali Khan’s daughter Sara Ali Khan is being considered to play Irrfan Khan’s daughter in the story which moves forward by 10 years in the sequel. It is also not clear if Pakistani actress Saba Qamar who played Irrfan’s wife in HINDI MEDIUM will re-appear in the sequel.
