British singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran has announced his engagement with his longtime girlfriend Cherry Seaborn.

He made the announcement via social media on Saturday morning, reports CNN.

"Got myself a fiancé just before new year. We are very happy and in love, and our cats are chuffed as well," Sheeran wrote on Instagram.

Last year, Sheeran had revealed he has known Seaborn since they were children but they did not start dating until he invited her to Taylor Swift's Fourth of July party in 2015.

His engagement comes after a roller-coaster year.

His album "÷" ('Divide') — which also brought him to India — was the most popular album on streaming services for 2017, according to Nielsen data.

However, his appearance on the popular TV drama "Game of Thrones" was not welcomed by many fans, leading Sheeran to temporarily delete his Twitter account amid the criticism.

Anurag Kashyap takes dig at smoking warning in DARKEST HOUR

Filmmaker Anurag Kashyap, who has been against the format of showing the 'smoking is injurious to health' disclaimers during a movie, on Sunday took a dig at it by saying it was "fun" to watch it during DARKEST HOUR.

"It's fun to watch the 'smoking warning' throughout the film as Churchill puffs away on his cigar while trying to figure out his strategy in his DARKEST HOUR," Kashyap tweeted.

DARKEST HOUR features actor Gary Oldman portraying Winston Churchill. The actor won his first Golden Globe Award in Best Performance by an Actor in a Motion Picture-Drama category.

Kashyap has been persistent in his view that while running a disclaimer is not a bad idea, but the current format of showing it during a movie not right.

"It is fine to put an ad before and after the film, but on the film – it's not just distracting, it's insulting," Kashyap had told IANS in an interview.

Kashyap had even filed a case in court over his refusal to carry static anti-smoking warnings in his film UGLY, but had lost it.

Actress Rachel Weisz wants to star in a movie like WONDER WOMAN and says the superhero film was her favourite film of 2017.

Weisz, 47, was blown away by Patty Jenkins' film which featured Gal Gadot in the lead role and would love to work on something similar. However, she insists it isn't the type of film she could make happen herself, reports femalefirst.co.uk.

"I'm totally open to doing the big movies. Maybe I was more in the mood for smaller, more character-driven movies, but now I'm quite in the mood for a… But I just can't make it happen. Someone has to offer it to me," she told Empire magazine.

"And I can't produce one of those. I wouldn't know how to do that," Weisz added.

Asked if she'd like a movie like WONDER WOMAN, she said: "Yeah, definitely. It was good to see that a movie with a female character at the centre can make tons of money. We're not some weird outlier group. We're half the planet!"

The MERCY star, who is married to actor Daniel Craig and has son Henry, 11, with former partner Darren Aronofsky, says WONDER WOMAN was the first time she had really enjoyed an action movie because the titular character and her alter ego Diana Prince resonated with her.
