After designing costumes for films like JODHA AKHBAR, DEVDAS and MOHENJO DARO, designer Neeta Lulla has been brought on board as the exclusive costume designer for the Kangana Ranaut’s highly anticipated film MANIKARNIKA: THE QUEEN OF JHANSI.

With a career spanning over 3 decades and over 300 films to her credit the 4 time national award winner, Neeta Lulla states, “It’s an honour to be associated with a film whose pivotal character has always been an inspiration to me and many other women across the world. Jhansi Ki Rani has been one of my favourite chapters in school and I’m quite excited to be working on my first women centric biopic.”

Producer Kamal Jain adds on, “We are very excited to be working with someone as iconic as Neeta Lulla for a magnificent film like ours. Her repertoire will add great layering to every character and we are certain she will do full justice to the role.”

The film is being directed by National Award-winner Krish Jagarlamudi and will go on floor this month. Produced by Zee Studios and Kamal Jain & co-produced by Nishant Pitti, MANIKARNIKA is expected to be released around April next year.

Ace director Madhur Bhandarkar is gearing up for his next INDU SARKAR which is set on the backdrop of India during time of Emergency.

The film is in news ever since its trailer launch for both good and bad reasons. At one hand people are appreciating Bhandarkar for showcasing an important chapter of our History while certain section of people are objecting and accusing the director of distorting facts and presenting Congress government in bad light.

As a result various issues have cropped up ahead of the films’ release.

In an exclusive interview with Madhur Bhandarkar, he spoke about his film INDU SARKAR and revealed that its 70 percent fictional. The director also said that he is stressed and nervous about the film as he is still waiting for the certificate from censor board.

Kirti Kulhari has been part of various films starting from KHICHDI which was a comedy film which she went on to do SHAITAAN and got accolades for her role in PINK. She will now be seen in Madhur Bhandarkar’s INDU SARKAR which depicts the story of emergency and the time people were battling it.

Kirti plays a fictional character ‘Indu Sarkar’, who stammers, is a poetess, wants a simple life but becomes the voice of the nation when there is an alarming threat to the country.

As the film demanded a lot of research work and workshop as its 70 percent fiction she went on for rigorous training.

During exclusive media interactions when asked Kirti about her choice of films and what made her take up such a powerful role she went to say, “I liked the role and character a lot. This film is based on facts and extensive research has been put before we shot.  There is a reason why I stammer in the film and for that I met speech therapist, psychologist it was required that my character stammers.”

JUDWAA 2 is a sequel to Salman Khan’s ‘90s blockbuster JUDWAA slated to release in September 2017. It stars Varun Dhawan in a double role with Jacqueline Fernandez and Taapsee Pannu opposite him. The movie also has a special cameo by Salman Khan and is helmed by David Dhawan – the director of the original and father of Varun.
