Whether it will turn out to be a rabbit or just a rat from the hat of JAGGA JASOOS we don’t know but we wonder why was the inclusion of Govinda who is rumored to play Ranbir Kapoor’s father was kept as a secret by the makers while the world was speculating.. and suddenly the look of Bollywood’s great dancer and comedian with spot-on timing got released.

Well by this pic we get a feeling that dear chi is playing some quirky character minus its well-known swag Govinda in this beard and weird look looks confusing.. JAGGA JASOOS might help in solving the mystery but for that we have to wait till July 14.

He tickled our funny bones with some amazing comedy films like GRAND MASTI, GREAT GRAND MASTI and few more, while he made us fall in love with movies like SAATHIYA and also showed his rebellious style & action avatar in COMPANY and SHOOTOUT AT LOKHANDWALA.

Vivek is father to two kids and an amazingly adorable husband who likes to keep his personal life private.

Being experimental with his work, Vivek will now be seen in Amazon prime’s web series ‘Inside Edge’ which show the life of people involved with CCL.

In an exclusive conversation with Vivek Oberoi, he spills beans on his role in web series, why box office numbers don’t matter to him and what makes him keep his personal life private.

Excerpts from the interview:

VIVEK OBEROI

Tell us about the web series ‘Inside Edge’?
I play Vikrant Dhawan who believes he is the master of the universe he creates. The web series shows insight on match fixing, betting, murder, sex, scandal, his power is his drug. He makes sure he gets what he wants. We talk about betting match fixing but this shows gives us some deeper insight on how it goes about.

Is it inspired by anyone’s life?

What made you take up this role?
I am thrilled and excited to play this role. It’s something very different that I haven’t done before.

Do you like cricket?
I love cricket and I watch it as well.

How much did you research for your role?
I did a lot of research on my end.

As there are too many actors vouching for web series, there is a competition here don’t you feel the same?
I am a debutant in web series (laughs) the market is right here. It’s a great market. There are so many people who own a smart phone and have the access they can surely see it.

Tell us about the run time and number of episodes in the film?
There are 10 episodes of 45 minutes each.

Do box office numbers matter to you?
No, it doesn’t at all. I don’t think about numbers. It’s my job as an actor to entertain and I do that. I don’t bother about success and failure nothing is permanent. What are box office numbers? Just fun facts to play with!

You always keep your family and kids away from social media, why so?
They are too young and my films my bullets and guns they are too violent. I am protective father. As of now I want my family life to be private but I don’t know about the future.

How do you take Social media trolls?
I ignore it!

Will you be continuing with adult comedies?
I will take a call, once I am offered a script.

Forthcoming projects?
I am doing a Tamil film will tell you when I am ready to talk about it.

The trailer of VICTORIA & ABDUL starring Judi Dench and Ali Fazal left everyone asking for more.  Back home the audience has applauded Ali Fazal for this Hollywood venture. The movie is directed by Stephen Frears.

Playing the titular lead in the film there was a lot of representation of India in the film. In past there has been an obvious typecasting of South Asians in films internationally and Ali worked in tandem with makers of the film to ensure that there's correct portrayal. The actor suggested and worked with the makers to make sure the accent, pronunciation and such things in script are aptly put together and displayed on screen.   

ALI FAZAL WITH JUDI DENCH

In VICTORIA & ABDUL Ali tried to represent India in a better way and break down stereotypes about Indians in Tinsel town’s eyes.

Starring Academy Award winner Judi Dench as Queen Victoria and Ali Fazal as an Indian attendant named Abdul Karim, the film tells the unexpected story of the deep friendship between them.

When asked Ali he shared, 'The team was very forthcoming to all sort of suggestions. We all worked together and it was a collaborative effort. I wanted to try and keep it as authentic as possible and that was intended to ensure we get things right.'

This is not Ali's first outing in a Western film previously he was part of FAST & FURIOUS 7 in which he did a cameo role.

Well nothing official about it. But it’s rumored that the lovable B-town Munnabhai aka Sanjay Dutt will be the ‘baba’ bole toh father of our ‘Hero’ Varun Dhawan.

Rumour has it that Sanjay Dutt has been approached to play an important role in Karan Johar’s Dharma Production SHIDDAT that stars Varun Dhawan, Alia Bhatt and Aditya Roy Kapur

A source close to the production house says that if all goes well, Sanjay Dutt will play Varun Dhawan’s father in this film.

It must be recalled that news of Madhuri Dixit playing Alia’s mother has been floating around and probably this rumored development is about the one who will play Varun’s father.

The highly inspiring life of Pullela Gopichand, the man behind the success of Saina Nehwal, P. V. Sindhu and the recent badminton sensation – Srikanth Kidambi will now be represented on screen in a biopic.

Sources claim that Vikram Malhotra’s Abundantia Entertainment has acquired the rights of the India’s badminton ace and Padma Bhushan awardee Pullela Gopichand to produce a film on his life and achievements.

PULLELA GOPICHAND

The movie is said to be a bilingual in Hindi and Telugu (going by Gopichand’s roots in Andhra Pradesh). Right now the project is at planning stage and other details like the cast and crew etc will be announced very soon.

Pullela Gopichand is a true inspiration; the master badminton player is at present the Chief National Coach for the Indian Badminton team. He won the All England Open Badminton Championships in 2001, becoming the second Indian to achieve this feat after Prakash Padukone (Deepika Padukone’s father).  He runs the
Gopichand Badminton Academy which has trained today’s champs like Saina Nehwal, P. V. Sindhu, Srikanth Kidambi.

Gopichand received the Arjuna Award in 1999, the Dronacharya Award in 2009 and the Padma Bhushan – India's third highest civilian award – in 2014. Gopichand is the rare sports icon who has refused to do a soft drink commercial saying it’s not proper for a sportsman to promote aerated drinks.

Tiger Shroff  MUNNA MICHAEL has been churning the right amount of craze among fans. The film being an ode to pop sensation MJ shows trials and tribulations of a street dancer wanting to ace it like the pop sensation.

After teasing the fans with glimpses of the first song from TOILET EK PREM KATHA, Akshay Kumar unveiled the ‘Hans Mat Pagli’ song with his fans on a social media platform.

The actor captioned the video of the song as, “Keshav aur Jaya ki unique love story ka first song”

The song crooned by Sonu Nigam has Akshay Kumar trying very hard to woo his lady love Bhumi, while she seems to be unfazed and irritated because of his stalking.

The song has a typical desi essence to it and Akshay is at his goofy best in it. Certain visual from the song reminds you of Dhanush and Sonam Kapoor starrer RAANJHANAA.

Ekta Kapoor the head honcho of Balaji Telefilms, has taken up the most controversial film LIPSTICK UNDER MY BURKHA as she will be marketing and promoting the film. Also, the TV Czarina will leave no stone unturned to promote it and buy as many screens as possible so that the masses can watch the film

LIPSTICK UNDER MY BURKHA has been under the constant scanner since the time the makers decided to release the film in India. After winning 11 international awards when CBFC didn’t certify the film it came as a shock for director Alankrita.

Finally, after a long battle with CBFC, the second trailer of the film was released yesterday. During the press conference when Ekta was asked about why she took up this film she said, “As the picture didn’t tore lines, I have heard about the film, it has won 11 awards internationally. When I watched the film I found it stark and true. Doing this film was the most honest conversation I had with myself. Taking this film was like several people staring on my face. Not as a producer but as a woman I decided to take this film.”

Talking about CBFC she added, “I have no issues with CBFC, it’s a society that has such mentality and I have issues with that. The story is about girls and women of all age group who have sexual desires and its normal, you’re owner of your body. It’s based on real life stories and incidents, why a girl has to prove herself a little harder.

There are so many things she has to combat; this lipstick is for society who doesn’t let us come out.  It’s about ideology; it’s not about women or men. It’s about the patriarchal society.”

She further went on to add, “I will start lipstick for men which talks about how they made women stand on their own feet, my father supported me. We are told to dress decently, if a guy wears capris to temple its fine, but a girl should have a code of conduct. I have issues with society and not CBFC.”
