DADDY Arjun Rampal is here to blow your mind

Making films based on true stories or inspired from real life incidents seems to be the current fascination of Bollywood filmmakers. So here comes yet another political crime drama film based on gangster-turned-politician Arun Gawli.

After capturing the audience’s interest with their unique posters and teasers, the makers of DADDY have finally released the trailer of their film after a very long gap.

But we must say that the wait is worth it as the trailer of the film is very gripping and succeeds in arousing curiosity.

The 2 minute long trailer takes us back in 1970’s the time when Textile Mills were shut down and the subsequent unemployment gave rise to crime.

The trailer of this Ashim Ahluwalia directorial chronicles how Arun Gawli went on to become India’s most feared mobsters who later also entered politics and popularly came to be known as Daddy by his followers.

Arjun Rampal looks like a doppelganger of Arun Gawli and it’s difficult to take your eyes off him whenever he is on screen. The treatment of the story gives you a SHOOTOUT AT LOKHANDWALA feel.

DADDY will hit the silver screens on July 21.

Power house performer Ranbir Kapoor is not just acting in Anurag Basu’s upcoming romantic musical comedy film JAGGA JASOOS but producing it as well.

However as a filmmaker the actor seemed to have some not-so- good experience as the film kept on delaying for a very long time. Talking about the delay the actor was quoted saying in a report in Mid-Day as, “None of us knew that the film would take so much time. I think it's everyone's mistake and we are all to be blamed for the delay.'

Also talking about whether he will be producing more films in future the actor confessed, “I have realised it's not my cup of tea. JAGGA JASOOS is my first and last film as a producer. I am happy being an actor. I am lazy and don't think I am cut out to be a filmmaker. I am glad, though, that I have been credited as producer for JAGGA JASOOS.'

Well that was some honest confession we must say.

Bollywood gears for yet another clash

Off late, two big ticket releases are bound to clash at the box-office on the same day. What happens next is that one feels that they are almost watching a thriller film. The movies are pitted against each other, day-to-day box-office numbers are taken into record and comparisons are made. Until the film reaches its D-Day on Friday, there is suspense built.

MOM AND GUEST IIN LONDON

But well, we must say that not only the trade pundits but even the audience enjoys this thrill. While the trade analysts are only concerned about the numbers, the viewers are excited to watch both the films and experience different genres on the same day. And the audience is going to experience this soon.

Sridevi starrer MOM and Kartik Aaryan and Paresh Rawal’s GUEST IIN LONDON releases on the same day –July 7th, 2017.

What makes this clash interesting is the fact that both the releases are different genres. While MOM is a thriller and a dark film, GUEST IIN LONDON is a light comedy and both the genres have their own loyal audiences. Despite a great comeback with ENGLISH VINGLISH (2012), Sridevi didn’t do any Hindi film for five years, so the Goddess’ second innings with MOM is surely most awaited. Also it’s Sridevi’s 300th film and she guarantees to blow your mind off.

On the other hand GUEST IIN LONDON is a family-entertainer. It has been a long time Paresh Rawal is back on the big screen and audiences love to watch him in a comic role. Seen with him in the film will be Gen Y’s heartthrob Kartik Aaryan, PYAAR KA PUNCHNAMA fame.

So let’s see if it’s Sridevi’s vengeful MOM act or Paresh-Kartik’s comic timing that wins audiences hearts and gets the box-office excited.

SS Rajamouli’s BAAHUBALI franchise has opened new avenues for Prabhas. Many top filmmakers from Bollywood are vying for & eyeing to cast Prabhas in their project. Earlier reports were doing the rounds, when BAAHUBALI 2 was about to release, that filmmaker Karan Johar is planning to launch Prabhas in Bollywood.

Now, the latest buzz suggests that not Karan Johar but Rohit Shetty is planning to give Prabhas the biggest launch pad in Bollywood. And not only this, Rohit also plans to have Salman Khan together in the film.

Well if these speculations turn out to be true it will be a huge treat to watch Salman Khan and Prabhas together in one frame. But with Prabhas on board, Rohit’s film will become a huge-budgeted venture as the BAAHUBALI star has hiked his fees to whopping 80 crores approx. as per the reports. Let’s wait and watch.

While superstar Shah Rukh Khan these days may be lagging behind in giving out hits as compared to Salman Khan and Akshay Kumar, but he is certainly leading in the Forbes list. The Forbes list of world’s highest paid celebs is much-awaited for stars, elite class & especially those who want to know who has highest earnings.

SHAH RUKH KHAN, SALMAN KHAN AND AKSHAY KUMAR

As per the reports, Shah Rukh has beaten Salman Khan and Akshay Kumar in highest paid celebs list. While SRK leads at 65th position, Salman and Akshay have acquired 71st and 80th position in Forbes list respectively. However, megastar Amitabh Bachchan has not made it to the list, unlike last year.

Reportedly, Shah Rukh’s earnings this year stand at $38 million, while Salman earned $37 million and Akshay earned $35million in the year 2016-2017. But there is not much difference between Shah RUkh, Salman and Akshay’s earnings.

Well, we really hope one day our stars top the list as well!
