Tinka Tinka Dil Mera
Teri Lau Mein Jalta Hai
Jaaye Tu Chahe Kahin
Mere Dil Mein Dhalta Hai

Katra Katra Dil Mera
Tere Raun Mein Behta Hai
Jaaye Tu Chahe Kahin
Mere Dil Mein Rehta Hai

Oh..Oh..Oh..Oh..Oh..Oh..

Teri Ik Ik Karke
Yaadein Raati Hain
Teri Ik Ik Karke
Saansein Jaati Hain
Yeh Meri Aahaton
Kabhi Kahin Nikal Jaaye
Maange Bas Ik Jhalak Teri
Kahin Tu Mil Jaaye

Tukda Tukda Dil Mera
Tera Rasta Takta Hai
Jaaye Tu Chahe Kahin
Mere Dil Mein Thamta Hai

Zarra Zarra Gam Mera
Tere Dil Mein Hasta Hai
Jaaye Tu Chahe Kahin
Mere Dil Mein Basta Hai

Here’s why we don’t feel the ‘Raabta’ with Sushant-Kritis film

0

Right from the time the film was announced, we have been constantly familiarized with the Urdu term ‘Raabta’, which means connection. In fact even the makers have been shouting from rooftop that ‘everything is connected’ and want us to believe in the idea of CONNECTION! So what is the ‘Raabta’ aka ‘connection’ in Dinesh Vijan’s directorial debut RAABTA a term that was lifted from one of the songs from AGENT VINOD and probably became a seed of thought for the film? Well, it’s revisiting ‘Punar-janam’ funda, something that Bollywood has done to death.

RAABTA MOVIE STILLS

Right from 50s, the reincarnation genre has been explored in numerous films. However every filmmaker has given it a different treatment but the heart remains the same – A stranger ‘boy’ meets stranger ‘girl’, they feel the ‘Raabta’ and eventually (sometimes either of the partners or both the partners) realize that they have been the premis (lovers) from past janam (or janamo janam), who were separated by another protagonist in the love triangle (here the third angle being Jim Sarbh). On the other side, there have been impactful reincarnation revenge dramas also like KARAN ARJUN, OM SHANTI OM, KARZ, etc but they made their way to our hearts and we wanted to root for the protagonist there. Surprisingly, to add to it reincarnation revenge dramas have worked better than the separated lovers of last birth. Don’t believe us? Well these examples prove it enough – PREM, BANJARAN, AB KE BARAS, TERI MERI KAHANI, HAMESHA, EK PAHELI LEELA, etc.

Dinesh Vijan’s RAABTA is actually a ‘Cocktail’ of all the reincarnation movies, the youth romance that we have witnessed for years. In a nutshell we can say it is an old wine presented in a new bottle made of fresh casting, great production values & presentation. The idea has been retold with Kriti & Sushant, who meet in Budapest, fall in love & make-out within no time, playing the bichde hue premi (separated lovers in the past) some 1000 years ago. Well, the only novelty about the reincarnation here is that the three souls (Sushant, Kriti & Jim) meet after 1000 years and that has been provided with some logic by the 323-year old played by Rajkummar Rao.

Being Dinesh Vijan’s debut attempt we appreciate his efforts but it seems the director rather concentrated on Kriti-Sushant’s pairing, the beautiful locales, costumes & make-up, his fleeting tryst with BAAHUBALI kind of presentation, cinematography, which deserves special mention, and giving it an elegant touch. Throughout the film Kriti-Sushant talk about their connection, but when we actually revisit their past connection, Dinesh fails to make it intense or even give it an emotional touch. Everything is so swift & made-up that you don’t feel for any of the characters.

Talking about the actors, Kriti looks ‘Sweet’ (just like the chocolates in her shop) & beautiful, her chemistry with Sushant is also crackling. While Sushant is good, he tends to overact at times when he tries to do a Casanova. It doesn’t suit him. He especially needs to improvise on his dialogue delivery style. Jim Sarbh’s, who impressed one and all in NEERJA, character doesn’t have that much depth. Although his character in the past life is somewhat convincing, but as a business tycoon in present times Jim seems unsuitable. On the vice-versa, Sushant’s portrayal in the past life is whacky. He even acts weird, leaving us little disappointed.

The treat to sore eyes apart from the beautiful locales of Europe is Deepika Padukone’s recreated ‘Raabta’ title song.

If the film works for Kriti & Sushant’s pairing, then it’s okay, otherwise it will be a wasted effort. Hope next time Dinesh can have some ‘Raabta’ with his audience, as he seems to have the potential of a good director. A little more hard work on the script and he can go beyond boundaries. Good luck!

It’s hard not to fall in love with Ranbir Kapoor in ‘Galti Se Mistake’

0

After enthralling the audience with its first song ‘Ullu Ka Patha’ the makers of JAGGA JASOOS has now released its second track ‘Galti Se Mistake’.

In this fun-filled song we see Ranbir and his boy gang in an endearing school-boy avatar professing the idea of making the most of their youth by committing ‘Galti Se Mistake’

Ranbir is literally shining throughout the song and his dancing skill deserves a special mention. The choreography of this track by Vijay Ganguly will make you get up and try them at least once.

Surprisingly director Anurag Basu makes a cameo in this track as a hairy Santa Claus. Crooned by Arijit Singh and Amit Mishra ‘Galti Se Mistake’ is a song that might not impress you if only heard. It is the video of the song wherein lies all the fun of watching this peppy and lively track.

RAABTA Movie Review: A ‘cocktail’ of karmic connections

0

Surprising as it may sound, its Rajkummar Rao's (RKR) double-bill this Friday! But the funny thing about it is that the one film (BEHEN HOGI TERI) where he is probably all over but unfortunately the 'Film' is not (in theaters) and the other film that is all over (RAABTA) but then he is (almost) not.

Well, we are talking about the latter that also stars Sushant Singh Rajput, a banker, exported to an European country. Here he meets a 'halwai' who makes 'mithai' in the form of chocolates. And all the youth would want to believe that the first meeting itself takes lips… sorry life to the next level and soon they are in bed. There is also the third angle to this triangle with Jim Sarbh playing a liquor baron also hitting it off with Kriti Sanon on the very first meeting and all hell breaks loose. Wait, we think it is just a day or two old relationship; but apparently it is 'hazar saal' old incomplete love (triangle) story.

Back then our 'halwai' was a warrior princess much-in love with another warrior (Jim) of the same tribe but to save the tribe eventually falls in for another man (Sushant). A bit too complicated as it sounds, we also could not figure out until we had been through the entire candy floss first half trying to figure out what we were about to experience in the next. Oh, there is RKR as so-to-say 'sutradhar' of the past life spilling the beans for the next life.

RAABTA does have a sidekick in Varun Sharma to bring some comic relief in the boring goings-on but the icing-on-the-cake (for fans) is the forced inclusion of Deepika Padukone in its title song, which is a 're-incarnated' song (read version) from Dinesh Vijan's past – AGENT VINOD.

RAABTA sees the role reversal in COCKTAIL's director Homi Adajania producing the movie where as Dinesh Vijan who produced COCKTAIL helming RAABTA. The production values, as far as the contemporary (times) story is concerned, are top class and very polished. Sushant Singh Rajput shows his confidence whereas Kriti Sanon's acting is restrained. Jim tries to get into a barons 'suit' this time (post NEERJA) but does not get too much to explore though. In terms of costume design or makeup, guess the most efforts must have gone in Rajkummar Rao's character design, but then was it really so important in the narrative after all?

Well, it's almost raining and visiting a nearby Cineplex with your bae to get some cool two and a half hour of personal time might make some sense. Else ask your mom to make some pakodas with hot tea while you go and pick up either COCKTAIL if you wish to see some contemporary glamorous romance in some firang land or the once alleged source of RAABTA to experience some re-incarnation costume drama with tout action. This and everything in-between is what we have been getting week after week.

BABUMOSHAI BANDOOKBAAZ Nawazuddin outsources for Yamraj!

0

The teaser of Nawazuddin Siddiqui starrer BABUMOSHAI BANDOOKBAAZ is here and without a doubt the actor showcases his acting prowess like a boss in it.

Nawaz’s character Babu is a ruthless contract killer who has one rule i.e. to never kill for free.

In the teaser we see Nawaz clad in lungi and living a thug life. Few scenes from the film will remind you of GANGS OF WASSEYPUR franchise.

There is one killer dialogue in the film in which someone asks Nawaz, “Tum Engineer ho?” to which he replies with a straight face, “Hum toh outsourcing karte hai Yamraj ke liye”

Overall Nawaz impresses with his effortless acting in the teaser and now we are excited about the film’s trailer to release.

Taapsee Pannu to star in movie adaptation of ‘Operation Jinnah’?

0

Actress Taapsee Pannu showcased her acting prowess in her last release NAAM SHABANA. And now the actress has expressed her keenness in being a part of the movie adaptation of author Shiv Aroor’s book ‘Operation Jinnah’

Now you must be wondering when this film was announced? We tell how this idea of making a movie adaptation cropped up.

When Shiv Aroor recently announced the release of his first novel 'Operation Jinnah', a military Special Forces thriller people started talking on social media about the resemblance of the girl on the cover to actress Taapsee Pannu.

Surprisingly Taapsee showed her wittiness by replying to the author as, “Whoa! Didn't know this. Since the poster is ready can we start making the movie now.

Operation Jinnah is about a girl kidnapped by Pakistani terrorists as the Indian Prime Minister plays a delicate game of politics with Pakistan’s Prime Minister to get his daughter back.

So if the movie is ever made we would really love to watch Taapsee in it as we have already seen her terrific performance in some action thrillers like BABY and NAAM SHABANA.

Tiger Shroff flips and jumps in the first song of MUNNA MICHAEL

0

Tiger Shroff is one of the most terrific dancers in Bollywood after Hrithik Roshan. Tiger’s action dance film MUNNA MICHAEL is tribute to legendary dancer Michael Jackson.

The film’s first song ‘Main Hoon’ has Tiger dancing his heart out and naturally he nails it perfectly with his killer moves. He flips in the air as if he is a hot air balloon and his feet work is amazing.

Tiger Shroff has a super flexible body and you can see him dance with utmost ease. Although we see him doing MJ’s signature moon walk in this song just for few micro seconds but we believe that the best is saved for later.

‘Main Hoon’ is an out and out amazing dance number and you guys will simply love Tiger in it.

Check out his killer moves below in the post shared by Tiger on a micro-blogging site:
