While they are a charming couple, Genelia-Riteish also share a cute chemistry with their two sons. As it was their second son Rahyl’s first birthday, Riteish & Genelia took to social media to wish their son. Riteish in fact posted a video, wherein he is seen baking a blueberry cake for his son’s first birthday and it is probably his first stint in the kitchen. While wifey Genelia is absolutely surprised with this gesture and she very cutely responds to Riteish’s antics.

While the netizens are having a field day by trolling Priyanka Chopra for her ‘lack of manners’ as she chose to meet PM Narendra Modi wearing a short dress and the way she exposed her legs while sitting with him, there’s someone back home who is in all support of the actress.

It was none other than Varun Dhawan who at a recently held event was asked about this controversy to which he replied, “She is someone we all should be proud of in our country. She is making our country proud abroad and all this is very stupid. Social media trolling is not something that needs to become a national issue.”

Well we totally agree with Varun and hope that the good for nothing netizens who have ample of time to waste learns something from what Varun said.

Having assisted Imtiaz Ali for more than six years everybody expected Sunaina to make films similar to her mentor. But the debutante director proved everyone wrong and wrote an earnest story for Maya Devi which she made it into film as DEAR MAYA.

In an exclusive interview Sunaina talks about her experience of making her debut film with a versatile actress like Manisha Koirala and also gives few tips to all the aspiring filmmakers out there.

Here are the excerpts:

SUNAINA BHATNAGAR

What inspired you to write a film like DEAR MAYA? Is it based on real life incidents?
I read a newspaper article about a Sikh lady in Punjab. In 1984 riots from her window this lady saw people being murdered and killed. She got so scared that she stayed inside her house for 30 years! So that is a real life story which became the seed of my film’s story. Apart from that lot of my personal experiences from my growing up year helped me write this story. It’s a slice-of-life kind of growing up story about taking your chances in life.

What made you chose Manisha Koirala for the role of Maya?
She is simply brilliant and right from the beginning she was on my mind as she is the best person to play Maya Devi.

How did you approach her?
That was tricky because I was a first time filmmaker you don’t know if you will get any response so I took my chances and I mailed her the script. She read it and she said I loved it and I want to do it. Then we met of course after she checked who I am. She met Mukesh Chhabra; he is friend of mine so we connected through him. So that’s how the project took off.

Tell us about your experience of working with an actress of her caliber.
I had the best experience. I think I am very fortunate because if in your first film you get an actor so good it makes your life so easy otherwise you keep struggling with getting the kind of performance that you need. Anyway I had two new girls so we had to balance. Over all it was an absolute pleasure.

Do you think that kids of today’s generation believe in the old world charm of expressing their love through letters?
Yes. See now-a-days it’s so easy to SMS and to send text instantly. Even an email seems bit outdated as nobody send email now-a-days but at the same time I think that the younger generation likes this old world charm love as they fondly recall it as‘Woh Zamana Tha’. I myself enjoy watching such love stories, I might not do it personally but I don’t mind watching it.

Did you discuss this project with your mentor Imtiaz Ali?
Yeah on and off we used to have discussions. I have been trying to make my first film for a long time so we discussed many things whenever we met.

How is Imtiaz sir as a filmmaker and as a mentor?
I assisted him for like six years so in a way my film schooling was with him. He is great person to work with and everything that I have learnt came from him. I was very uniquely blessed to be in the position of being trained by him.

Did you show this film to him? What was his feedback?
Yeah he saw the film and he was very surprised because I think a lot of people expect me to make a film very similar to his movies and they want to see the same kind of thing but it’s not at all in the same space so I think he was quite surprised and he said, “It’s not about boys it’s not about love. It’s very unique and different film and I haven’t seen anything like this before.”

Give one reason why people should go and watch this film
It is a very different story and it talks about life in a different way. The film is very realistic and simple and we all can relate it to our own lives. DEAR MAYA is about the small things that happen in life there is nothing over dramatic and nothing crazy about it but all humane. It’s all about how small small things make our lives.

Any message for all the aspiring directors out there?Tell us about your upcoming projects
I have second film which I will start working on very soon.

Your first film is such a challenge that it’s so easy to give up and in a way my journey of making this film is also the message of this film that it’s very easy to give up but you just have to get out and do it. It’s going to be really difficult out there but in the end it’s all worth it.

Which actor you look forward to work with in your future projects?
There are so many like Ranveer Singh, Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt. They are such a terrific actors that I would love to work with them.

Now that your film is releasing tomorrow how excited or nervous you are?
My god, I am very excited but very nervous as well because you know you have given two years of your life on a film and your first film is not easy it’s like this mountain that you have to climb so it means more personally. I don’t know what the future holds for me right now it was a big challenge to make this film so personally it’s a huge accomplishment. I don’t know what will happen to it once the film releases but just to get it here and release it is a big accomplishment. I really hope that people like it and appreciate it because it’s been quite an experience to make this film.

Shah Rukh Khan and Anushka Sharma have become a hit pair ever since the duo came together in RAB NE BANA DI JODI. They were again seen in JAB TAK HAI JAAN. They are also gearing up to be seen in Imtiaz Ali’s untitled next.

And now we hear that, Aanand L Rai’s film with Shah Rukh that had roped in Katrina earlier this year, has brought on board yet another hottie. Reportedly there was a lot of speculation surrounding the casting of another female lead in the film. However, the makers have finally confirmed that Anushka has been signed on for the movie.

Speaking about the same the source said, “There were rumors of several actors having signed or being approached for Aanand L Rai's film but that was pure conjecture by the media. The makers never confirmed or commented on the casting of the female leads before this. Few were aware of the fact that, Shah Rukh Khan had discussed this film with Anushka quite a while ago, while they were shooting for Imtiaz Ali's film and were looking for the right time to make the announcement.”

Speaking about roping in Anushka, Aanand L Rai says, “I'm thrilled that Anushka Sharma joins Shah Rukh Khan and Katrina Kaif for my next. From our very first meeting, she had an instant connect with the character. She seemed very excited about the challenges that this role demands. She’s at a more than ready stage in her career to essay a complex role like this. We have been working on her look and prepping for the film. It was only once things fell into place that we wanted to announce Anushka’s casting.”

As far as shooting of Aanand L Rai’s film is concerned only SRK is seen shooting for his role wherein he plays a dwarf, while Anushka is yet to begin her shoot.  On the other hand Katrina Kaif is busy filming TIGER ZINDA HAI with Salman khan.

Indeed JAB TAK HAI JAAN team collaborates yet again for Aanand L Rai’s next. While in JAB TAK HAI JAAN, it was one-sided love for Anushka, it is to be seen how Aanand’s film will be presenting SRK-Anushka’s jodi here.

Anushka Sharma and Shah Rukh Khan are teaming up with each other for the fourth time now. SRK has done maximum number of films with Kajol and now it seems Anushka Sharma is gradually becoming as the new ‘Kajol’ for SRK.

Hope the fresh jodi of Anushka and SRK are loved the same way SRK and Kajol created magic!

Tiger Shroff’s much awaited action-drama MUNNA MICHAEL’s first poster is out.

In the film Tiger Shroff plays Munna, an aspiring dancer, who idolizes pop icon Michael Jackson. The poster features Tiger flipping his hat up in the air and crowd cheering for him. Tiger took to social media and shared the first poster and captioned it as 'Moonwalking in the steps of the legend.'

On the other hand Nawazuddin Siddiqui will feature in a negative role in the film. MUNNA MICHAEL releases on July 21.

MUNNA MICHAEL is Tiger Shroff and director Sabbir Khan's third film together after HEROPANTI and BAAGHI.

That Vidya Balan is a huge Sridevi fan is commonly known.The viewers will now get to see Vidya dance to Sridevi’s chartbuster ‘Hawa Hawai’ (from the blockbuster MR. INDIA) in her forthcoming slice-of-life family film, TUMHARI SULU.

The makers of the film felt that instead of getting the track re-sung by a new voice, it would be wise to retain Kavita Krishnamurthy’s voice, as the track was synonymous with her unique vocals. The iconic number is being recreated by Tanishk Bagchi, who has the recently recreated ‘Humma Humma’ and ‘Tamma Tamma’ to his credit.

Talking about the track director Triveni shared, “I am elated to have such a cult number in the film. It plays a key role in the film and is not just a remix for the end credits. Our intention is to pay a true tribute to the original and revive it in its full glory. I am looking forward to the flower power team of Vidya and Neha (Dhupia) to break a leg.”

Prod him if Vidya and Neha’s looks will be inspired by Sridevi’s and the director says, “You might see some glimpses in terms of the moves, but the look will be our interpretation of the original visuals. We haven’t zeroed down on the final look yet though.”

This recreated track of ‘Hawa Hawai’ will be choreographed by Rajeev Surti.

Directed by Suresh Triveni and produced by T-Series and Ellipsis Entertainment, TUMHARI SULU opens worldwide on December 1.

Filmmaker Anees Bazmee is all set to direct an action comedy next after MUBARAKAN that stars Anil Kapoor & Arjun Kapoor in double role. T-Series and KriArj Entertainment have joined hands to produce this film, which is yet to be titled.

Anees says, “I'm pleased to be a part of the project, which is being backed by such prominent production houses. In keeping with my ideology of clean and entertaining cinema for my audiences, I will do my best to offer unique content this time around as well. The film is an action-comedy and will feature prominent actors.”

Bhushan Kumar, T-Series, says, “Prernaa Arora and I have known each other for quite long and I'm happy that we'll also be working together now. I'm proud to be associated with her company and make meaningful and entertaining cinema.”
