Cricketer Hardik Pandya has now ended weeks of rumors by announcing that he is in a relationship with model Mahieka Sharma. Two years since he broke up with Natasa Stankovic, the Indian all-rounder declared his new affair official through a series of Instagram posts, along with his birthday celebrations. Later, he also shared a black-and-white photo of the two standing side by side, superimposing a blue evil-eye emoji onto it — an emblem commonly used to repel negativity and guard valuable things.

Seventh younger than Hardik, Mahieka Sharma is a star on the rise in India’s fashion world. She has graced covers of top fashion magazines like ELLE and Grazia, received the Model of the Year award at the Indian Fashion Awards, and is known to be affilitated with high-end brands like Tanishq, Vivo, and Uniqlo. Ex-Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) zonal director Sameer Wankhede has sued Red Chillies Entertainment and Netflix for defamation over the scandalous series The Ba*ds of Bollywood, which he says portrays him in a bad light. The co-created show by Aryan Khan has caused big controversy upon release, with Wankhede claiming that the satire aims not only at him but also demeans the efforts of those who battle drug abuse.

Wankhede had asserted that he had moved the Delhi High Court on his own and not as a government official. “My personal opinion is that there is no relation between my profession or my job and this,” he said, declining further comment on the legal case since it is sub judice.

Wankhede also disclosed that the backlash has moved beyond criticism with hate messages reaching his family from outside India. “We have frequently reported the threats given to my sister and my wife by the police on a regular basis. I will not accept the fact that because of me, they have to bear the brunt of it,” he said, showing alarm over the increasing online abuse faced by his loved ones from nations like Pakistan, the UAE, and Bangladesh.

In reply to the criticism, Aryan Khan came to the defense of the series, saying the show was meant to be satirical, not a documentary. “We were taking liberties with it for screen, naturally, but naturally, there’ll be things that are inspired. There’ll be scenes that are inspired by certain realities, and there’ll be exaggerations,” Aryan said, further adding, “If you don’t like it, the show is not meant for you.”

He admitted there were some scenes that invited internal arguments on the sets, but stood firm on his creative position. “We did receive some notes on some scenes where they were like, ‘Oh, this is too this, or this is too that,’ but then I took a stand,” Aryan said.

The Delhi High Court has also heard Wankhede’s complaint and issued summons to Red Chillies Entertainment, Netflix, X Corp, Google, Meta, and others. The next date for hearing is October 30.

Salman Khan’s next film Battle of Galwan is definitely one of the most eagerly awaited Bollywood projects. Recent reports suggest that the last leg of the shoot of the film has officially commenced, with Salman joining the crew in Mumbai on October 12.

According to Bollywood Bubble, the last schedule began on October 11, with Salman set to begin shooting the next day. The actor had just completed a grueling 45-day shoot in the high-altitude landscapes of Leh, Ladakh, which was said to be a start-to-finish schedule. On his return to Mumbai, Salman sported a clean-shaven appearance, leaving behind the thick moustache worn for his character in the film.

This concluding schedule is said to be pivotal, not just on some high-octane action scenes but also on emotional scenes that move the heart of the narrative. Directed by Apoorva Lakhia, Battle of Galwan takes us back to the 2020 Galwan Valley confrontation between Indian and Chinese soldiers — an encounter that shook the country. What made the battle even more gruesome was the absence of weapons, with the soldiers fighting each other using sticks and stones.

Last month in July, Salman provided fans with a strong sneak peek into the film through a motion poster.
