One of the most admired actors in Indian cinema, Ajith Kumar, is ready to receive the Padma Bhushan award from the President of India, Droupadi Murmu, personally at Rashtrapati Bhavan in Delhi. The function has been scheduled on April 28, 2025. Ajith and his wife Shalini and children have already reached the national capital for the event.
This is just the start of a week of dual celebrations for the actor, as his birthday comes quickly on May 1.

The actor, who was declared a Padma Bhushan awardee on January 25, 2025, posted a heartfelt message on X (formerly Twitter) thanking the people. “I am hugely humbled and privileged to have received the prestigious Padma Award,” Ajith posted, thanking President Murmu, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and everyone who helped him reach this stage.

Ajith recognized the significant contribution of the film industry, his peers, seniors, and co-workers. He also thanked the motor racing fraternity and shooting communities who have helped him pursue his interests outside cinema.

In a moving portion of his message, Ajith thanked his family and offered a poignant tribute to his deceased father. “I wish my late father had been alive today,” he wrote, going on to mention that his mother’s love and sacrifices were instrumental to his success.
