Diljit Dosanjh surprised fans once again with a surprise announcement — he will be featured on Kaun Banega Crorepati (KBC) Season 17, hosted by Amitabh Bachchan. Though the show makers have not yet made an official announcement regarding the episode, Diljit himself made a pre-peek about his participation in it during a recent fan engagement session on social media.
The singer-actor was answering fan questions on X (formerly Twitter) when he was asked about how his experience at KBC was. Diljit simply said, “It’s for ਪੰਜਾਬ (Punjab) flood,” along with a hands together emoji — indicating that his affiliation is tied with an act of charity.
Although no confirmation has been issued, Diljit had posted a video indicating that he contributed to KBC 17. His next trip is to generate awareness and generate funds for the flood-ravaged areas of Punjab. Diljit has opted for 10 villages in Gurdaspur and Amritsar with the help of NGOs and local authorities. His staff intimated that they are trying to generate some immediate relief — food, water, and medication. Once the situation calms down, they will undertake long-term rehabilitation and reconstruction activities. “Together, we can rebuild,” the team posted on Instagram.
Simultaneously, following Amar Singh Chamkila’s record-breaking success, Diljit will be reunited with director Imtiaz Ali once again for his next much-awaited film. Imtiaz Ali wrote and directed the movie, and it has been produced by Applause Entertainment, Window Seat Films, and Reliance Entertainment. The film boasts a galaxy of stars with Vedang Raina, Sharvari, and seasoned actor Naseeruddin Shah. Music director A.R. Rahman and lyricist Irshad Kamil are also rejoining Imtiaz.
His performance in Amar Singh Chamkila, which released on Netflix on April 12, 2024, established him as an international figure. Now, he has been nominated for Best Performance by an Actor for the International Emmy Awards 2025 — another achievement of his life.
