The much-awaited film Kanguva is set to hit theaters on October 10 this year, a date previously announced and eagerly anticipated by fans. Recently, the filmmakers made another exciting announcement, further fueling the buzz around the film.
On their official X handle (formerly Twitter), the makers of Kanguva posted a special poster to announce the release of a track titled “Fire Song” on July 23, 2024, which coincides with the birthday of lead actor Suriya. The poster, featuring a dramatic, fiery scene with Suriya silhouetted against the flames, suggests the film will be packed with intense action sequences.
The caption read, “Ignite your spirits and ready yourselves for a blazing celebration #FireSong from #Kanguva is set to release on 23rd July.” The announcement quickly went viral, garnering thousands of comments from fans expressing their excitement and love for the film.
In an earlier interview, producer KE Gnanvel Raja revealed that Kanguva will be made in two parts. The first part will end with a hint at the sequel, with the script for Kanguva Part 2 currently in development. Filming for the sequel is expected to start in late 2025 or early 2026. Besides Suriya, the film also stars Disha Patani, Bobby Deol, and Prakash Raj.
“Kanguva,” with a budget exceeding 350 crore, is poised to outshine blockbusters like “Pushpa” and “Singham” in terms of scale. The film, shot across seven countries, meticulously recreates a prehistoric era with the expertise of Hollywood professionals in action and cinematography. It features one of the largest war sequences ever filmed, involving over 10,000 actors. Studio Green has secured strategic partnerships with leading international distribution houses to ensure a wide theatrical release on October 10, 2024.
