The trailer for Nag Ashwin’s Kalki 2898 AD was unveiled, generating excitement among fans anticipating the futuristic action-thriller featuring Prabhas, Amitabh Bachchan, Deepika Padukone, Kamal Haasan and Disha Patani in prominent roles. Despite all the hype and buzz, the trailer falls flat on several fronts, leaving much to be desired.
The internet is divided some fans are loving the trailer calling it a blockbuster while others are comparing it with hollywood movie Dune.
The desert aesthetic, epic explosions and battle scenes also reminded internet of Dune, which starred Zendaya and Timothée Chalamet. Kalki 2898 AD is inspired by Hindu mythology, it contains similar elements that will draw in fans of Dune. The action, the scale, and the costume design do bear some resemblance.

A trailer’s primary job is to hook the audience. Unfortunately, “Kalki 2898 AD” provides a disjointed and confusing glimpse into its plot. Instead of intriguing and captivating, it leaves viewers scratching their heads, trying to piece together a storyline from random, chaotic scenes.
The performance of the actors  – Prabhas’s comedy scene is not humorous at all. A user also commented saying, “One more Adipurush by Prabhas…”. Deepika Padukone also seen 3 or 4 times maximum in the trailer. Netizen wrote Disha Patani’s dialogue and said, “Ek dialogue Mila tha usme bhi ise disha pata nahi “
