Celebrated actor Prithviraj Sukumaran turns a year older on October 16, 2025, and fans have more than one reason to celebrate. On his birthday, the makers of his upcoming film Khalifa unveiled the first official glimpse titled Khalifa – The Bloodline, offering a sneak peek into what promises to be a gripping action drama.
The teaser opens with customs officers trying to capture the notorious gold smuggler Aamir Ali. Initially confident, the officers soon realise they’re up against a formidable adversary. Aamir Ali isn’t just any smuggler—he is a man with royal blood, carrying the weight of a legacy that stretches across generations. As the chase intensifies, Aamir is expected to rise above the odds and seek revenge with ruthless precision.
Sharing the teaser on social media, Prithviraj wrote: “A revenge forged by a lineage that spans generations! Next Onam… Aamir Ali will write his vengeance in gold! #KHALIFA – The Ruler.”
Directed by Vysakh and written by Jinu V. Abraham, Khalifa is backed by a powerful team including music composer Jakes Bejoy, cinematographer Jomon T. John, and editor Chaman Chakko. Produced by Jinu V. Abraham, Suraj Kumar, and Sijo Sebastian under the Jinu Abraham Innovation banner, the film features high-octane action sequences choreographed by Yannick Ben of Lokha fame. Khalifa is set to release in theatres during Onam 2026.
Prithviraj was last seen in Sarzameen, a Hindi-language action thriller directed by Kayoze Irani. Co-starring Kajol and Ibrahim Ali Khan, the film premiered on JioHotstar on July 25, 2025, but received mixed to negative reviews.
