SS Rajamouli’s upcoming epic Varanasi, starring Mahesh Babu and Priyanka Chopra, continues to dominate headlines, especially after the recently released title teaser. The teaser, which went viral, showcased Mahesh Babu’s electrifying entry atop a bull—an image that instantly captured fans’ imagination. Now, the makers have shared a behind-the-scenes (BTS) video revealing the immense preparation and technical mastery behind this much-talked-about sequence.
Shared on the film’s official Instagram handle with the caption “The BOB entry, the backstory…”, the BTS video features Mahesh Babu in his fierce Rudhra avatar, gripping a trident while seated on a specially designed mechanical bull. The video highlights the construction of the massive prop and the meticulous coordination between lighting, sound, and stage crews to ensure the entry looked seamless on screen. Fans flooded the comments with heart and fire emojis as the glimpse reaffirmed Rudhra’s powerful presence—blood-soaked, intense, and commanding the frame.
Hints of time-travel elements appear in the teaser through hashtags like #GlobeTrotter and #TimeTrotter, before the screen confirms the official title: SS Rajamouli’s Varanasi. Priyanka Chopra stars as Mandakini, while Prithviraj Sukumaran plays the antagonist Kumbha, with their first-look posters unveiled earlier.
The film is being touted as one of India’s most ambitious cinematic ventures. A report from Tanzania’s The Citizen described the story as following a “rugged explorer” on a perilous mission through unexplored terrains, battling natural dangers, mysteries, and a formidable enemy to protect a world-altering secret—echoing the spirit of Indiana Jones-style adventures. Speculation also suggests that Sudheer Babu’s younger son, Darshan, may portray the childhood version of Mahesh Babu’s character, though an official confirmation is awaited.
