The highly anticipated Mammootty and Vinayakan-starrer Kalamkaval was earlier supposed to release on November 27, 2025. However, the makers later announced a postponement. The new release date has now been confirmed to be December 5, 2025. Taking to their official social media, the team wrote,
“We know you’ve waited long… The wait will be worth it… #Kalamkaval In Cinemas Worldwide from December 5, 2025. Keep Calm and wait for him…”
Sources suggest the initial delay was due to pending digital rights deals, which have now been finalized to make way for a theatrical release.
Kalamkaval is a crime thriller in which a team of police lands in a remote border village in Kerala to defuse tensions between two warring communities. It is here that they discover a far more sinister crime traced to a single mysterious man. The story unfolds as his secrets are brought into the light, revealing a labyrinth of danger and intrigue.
There were speculations that the film drew inspiration from the real-life crimes of the notorious Cyanide Mohan, but the makers have officially dismissed these claims.
