Ajith Kumar is one of the South Indian superstars who have won millions of hearts with powerful performances in films. Known for racing, the same goes for this man who prefers dwelling away from the limelight but stands to be one of the most admired actors in the industry with fewer film releases being remade and his influence on growing.

Ajith’s journey in the entertainment world started in 1990 with a small role in En Veedu En Kanavar. After some early setbacks in business, he ventured into modeling and quickly made a name for himself. His breakthrough came in 1995 with Aasai, followed by Kadhal Kottai in 1996, which solidified his romantic hero image. Ajith soon shifted to action films with Amarkalam (1999), and soon was the hero of a string of successful films like Vaali (1999), Citizen (2001), Villain (2002), and Billa (2007).

Ajith’s influence does not end at Tamil cinema. His Vedalam (2015) was remade in Telugu as Bhola Shankar with Chiranjeevi playing the lead.

On the personal front, Ajith’s love story with his co-star Shalini started when he was shooting for Amarkalam in 1999. After dating for a while, they got married in 2000 and are blessed with two children, a son and a daughter.

Ajith’s latest film, Vidamuyarchy, has been released on February 6, 2025, after the success of his 2023 movie Thunivu, which fans are waiting for him to appear on the big screen.
