According to recent reports, the actors are indeed dating, although they’re keeping things low-key for now. A source close to the duo told News18 that while the relationship is relatively new, it is genuine.
Fans have been quick to notice social media activity that hints at a growing closeness between the stars. Mrunal recently followed Dhanush’s sisters—Dr. Karthika Karthik and Vimala Geetha on Instagram, with both sisters reportedly following her back. This small but telling interaction has further fuelled dating speculations.
The duo also shares an interesting astrological connection. Born just days apart, both actors are Leos. Dhanush, born on July 28, 1983, turned 42 in 2025, while Mrunal, born on August 1, 1993, recently turned 33. This places a nine-year age gap between them, though that hasn’t seemed to matter to the stars.
Mrunal Thakur previously dated writer Sharad Tripathi. The former couple had appeared together on Nach Baliye Season 7 before parting ways. Meanwhile, Dhanush was married to Aishwaryaa Rajinikanth for nearly 18 years. The couple, who tied the knot in 2004, announced their separation in 2022 and finalised their divorce on November 27, 2024. They have two sons—Yatra and Linga.
