Pooja Hegde, who plays the female lead in Jana Nayagan, has shared her concern after the film was leaked online. On the night of April 9, some clips from the film started circulating on the internet. Later, it was found that a large portion, and in some cases the full film, had been leaked.
Reacting to this, Pooja Hegde posted a message on her Instagram stories. She said that the situation was upsetting for everyone involved in making the film. She explained that a film takes a lot of hard work, time, and effort from many people.
She wrote, “To my lovely audience. A film is the result of countless hours, creative risks, personal sacrifices, and a team that showed up every single day hoping to give you the best experience possible. Seeing our film leaked online is disheartening, not just for me, but for every single person who worked on it.”
She further added, “To see it being leaked and shared illegally is tough – not because of numbers, but because it takes away the respect that every artist and technician on the film deserves…plus don’t we all deserve to gather together to celebrate and watch Vijay sir’s last film, one last time, on the big screen in the right way! So let’s watch it the right way. Let’s wait. It will be out in due time. Let’s not encourage piracy. That’s how cinema and art will survive.”
Pooja also requested audiences to wait for the official release and watch the film in theatres. The film is important as it is said to be the last project of Vijay.
Several other well known actors, including Rajinikanth, Chiranjeevi Konidela, Suriya Sivakumar, and Sivakarthikeyan, have also reacted to the leak. They have raised concerns and asked for strict action.
The makers of the film have also released a statement. They said that the content has been illegally accessed and shared, and warned that strict legal action will be taken against those responsible.
The film is directed by H Vinoth and also stars Mamitha Baiju, Bobby Deol, and Priyamani.
