Veteran actress Tabu has officially announced her next big-screen project—a Pan-India action drama directed by Puri Jagannadh, starring Vijay Sethupathi in the lead. The untitled film, which has already gone on floors, is being described by Tabu as “South ka Dhamaka,” promising a powerful cinematic experience.
The actress shared a glimpse from the sets on social media—a photo of the film’s clapperboard placed among shelves stacked with script sheets. In her caption, she wrote,
“Coming soon! Hamara South ka Dhamaka! #PuriSethupathi film @puriconnects @actorvijaysethupathi #PuriSethupathi A #PuriJagannadh film. Releases in Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, Kannada, and Malayalam.”
Fans were ecstatic to see this collaboration, with comments like “The Queen x Makkal Selvan,” and “The dhamaka we didn’t know we needed.”
A High-Octane Film with a Stellar Cast
The film is being produced by Puri Connects, in association with JB Motion Pictures and JB Narayan Rao Kondrolla, and is presented by Charmme Kaur. Alongside Vijay Sethupathi, the film stars Samyuktha as the female lead, while Tabu and Vijay Kumar take on pivotal roles.
The shoot officially began on July 7, 2025, in Hyderabad. Puri Connects posted:“AND IT BEGINS! The raw and real journey of #PuriSethupathi begins on the sets today… major talkie portions being shot in a packed schedule.”

Tabu as the Antagonist?
While not yet officially confirmed, multiple reports suggest that Tabu will play the primary antagonist, showcasing a fierce and possibly never-seen-before avatar. Known for portraying strong female characters, Puri Jagannadh reportedly designed this role with Tabu in mind. She has previously impressed audiences with negative or grey-shaded roles in films like Maqbool and Andhadhun.
Fans can expect an intense, action-packed drama that spans across five languages.
