The wait will end on October 2nd, with the release of the second part of the film, Kantara: Chapter 1. Ahead of the release, the film’s team arrived in Mumbai to promote the film. The trailer and song of this pan-India film were shown to the media. A comic book based on Kantara was also released on the occasion.
As the film team was in Mumbai, writer-director and actor of the film Kantara, Rishabh Shetty recalled his struggling days in Mumbai. He added, “Mumbai is special to me because in this city, in 2008, I was an office boy at a producer’s house in Andheri West. I used to drive the producer’s car. But cinema brought me here. This is the power of cinema.”
The first part of the film Kantara was released in 2022. Made at a cost of around ₹14 crore, the film grossed over ₹300 crore worldwide. The film also enjoyed considerable popularity in Hindi. Now, the second installment will follow a similar story, set in our country.
Rishab said, “When we were making the first Kantara, we didn’t think it would be such a huge success. But gradually, people started watching it, and the film became a huge hit. We are grateful to everyone who made Kantara such a big success. I hope you will give this film the same love.”
The film, Kantara Chapter 1, is based on mythology and depicts the story of Panjurli Deva and Guliga Deva. The film will also depict a fierce battle. The film was shot over a period of approximately 250 days. The trailer reveals that the film will feature stunning VFX and high-voltage action sequences, providing a grand cinematic experience for audiences.

Speaking about Kantara Chapter 1, Rishab Shetty said, “We’ve put in a lot of hard work into making this film. We’ve done a lot of research. From the costumes to the sound of the era the story is set in, everything has been researched.”
Actors like Rishab Shetty, Jayaram, Rukmini Vasanth and Gulshan Devaiah are playing the lead roles in the film Kantara. The film will be released pan-India and multi-language, including in Hindi, Kannada, Telugu, Tamil, and Malayalam. It will also be released in Bengali and English.
