National Award-winning actor Rishab Shetty unveiled the first poster of his much-anticipated movie The Pride of Bharat: Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj today (February 19). The Kantara actor released the poster on the 395th birth anniversary of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. The film is set to release on January 21, 2027.

A Grand Historical Epic

This ambitious historical epic is poised to be one of India’s grandest productions, marking a global tribute to the legendary warrior king. The Pride Of Bharat: Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj aims to capture the valor, leadership, and legacy of Shivaji Maharaj on an unprecedented cinematic scale.

In an interview with The Times of India, Rishab Shetty called it an ‘honor’ to portray the historical figure. He expressed his deep admiration for Shivaji’s life and legacy, stating that bringing his story to the screen gives him ‘immense pride.’

“Shivaji’s life and legacy have always fascinated me, and there is a deep sense of pride in being associated with such a great historical figure. Opportunities like biopics come only once in a lifetime. As an actor and a performer, I feel that it’s an honor to bring his story to life on the big screen,” he told TOI.

Stellar Cast and Crew

The film will feature music by Pritam, with lyrics penned by Prasoon Joshi. It is directed by Sandeep Singh and will have cinematography by Ravi Varman of Ram Leela and Barfi fame. Resul Pookutty (The Goat Life, Slumdog Millionaire) is handling sound and acoustics, ensuring a top-tier cinematic experience.

Rishab Shetty’s Upcoming Projects

Apart from this grand historical drama, Rishab Shetty will also be seen in the role of Hanuman in Prasanth Varma’s Jai Hanuman, a sequel to the hit superhero film HanuMan. Additionally, he is directing and starring in Kantara: Chapter 1, a prequel to Kantara, set to release later this year. Fans eagerly await these cinematic spectacles!
