Samantha Ruth Prabhu and Naga Chaitanya’s romance was once one that had caught the imagination of fans throughout the nation. The fairytale romance had culminated in marriage, but all too soon their marriage was on the rocks within four years after which they confirmed their breakup in 2021. Since the breakup, the two have moved on with life significantly, and it appears that Samantha is now keen to shed a tangible memory of her earlier relationship.

Samantha had also gotten a tattoo with Naga, a tattoo of two arrows to represent how close they were. But lately, Samantha had posted photos on social media where fans could see that her tattoo, which was always on display on her wrist, seemed to be fading. This raised speculation that she may be planning to remove or change it. What’s interesting is that Naga also had the same tattoo, which adds more emotional value to the act.
The responses from fans on social media have been varied. A fan posted, “Good. one must never have a tattoo of the partner’s name. One does not know when the relationship ends. it hurts to remove too.” Another user, speaking of Deepika Padukone, posted, “At least Naga Chaitanya and Samantha were married, but Deepika dated for one year and retained the tattoo even after breaking up.” Nevertheless, there were some who also sympathized with Samantha and hoped she would do well, as one fan wrote, “She should get back to her cheerful life soon.”
Naga Chaitanya’s New Chapter
While Samantha is busy getting on with the next chapter, Naga Chaitanya has also begun a new chapter in his life. Naga married actress Shobhita Dhulipala on December 4, 2024, in a traditional Telugu wedding ceremony at Annapurna Studios in Hyderabad, which is meaningful to his family. Naga and Shobhita had started dating in 2022, and their relationship became public with a low-key engagement on August 8, 2024.
Both Samantha and Naga have clearly moved on, but the continuing debate over Samantha’s tattoo keeps fans in mind the emotional and symbolic significance that personal memories, such as tattoos, can possess.
