The much-awaited sequel Jailer 2 is progressing rapidly, and the latest buzz has sent fans into a frenzy. According to reports from India Today, veteran Bollywood superstar Mithun Chakraborty will soon join the shoot alongside Rajinikanth. Unlike brief cameos, Mithun is expected to play a full-fledged role, adding significant weight to the film.
The cast doesn’t end there—South Indian superstars Mohanlal and Shiva Rajkumar, as well as Bollywood’s Jackie Shroff, are also set to make cameo appearances. This inter-industry casting has created massive buzz, with film buffs waiting to see these legendary stars share the same screen.
Rajinikanth’s Stylish Look Steals the Spotlight
Superstar Rajinikanth, aged 74 now, continues to be the talk of the town not only with his performances, but even with his looks. His salt-and-pepper hairdo for Jailer 2 trended on social media after he was seen at director Nelson Dilipkumar’s 41st birthday party. Producers Sun Pictures posted glimpses from the party, which featured Rajinikanth gifting a bouquet to Nelson, standing with comedian Yogi Babu, and even feeding the director a piece of cake—a move fans lovingly term as “classic Thalaivar.” These behind-the-scenes moments went viral soon enough across all social media platforms.
Shah Rukh Khan Rumors Busted
Recently, there was wild speculation that Bollywood King Khan, Shah Rukh Khan, would make a special cameo. However, Box Office South India put an end to the rumors by revealing that SRK is not attached to the project in any way. Though fans had high hopes for the fantasy collaboration, the official denial has shifted the limelight back to the already superstar-studded cast.
The Phenomenal Hype Around Jailer 2
The buzz for Jailer 2 is, to a large extent, the result of the monumental success of its original, Jailer, which raked in a whopping ₹650 crore globally. Sun Pictures added to expectations with a witty and exciting announcement teaser.
The teaser starts with a radio alert of an incoming cyclone, before cutting to a light-hearted conversation between director Nelson and musician Anirudh in Goa. Their banter becomes mayhem soon, as a string of brutal action scenes follow, leading up to Rajinikanth’s stunning entry. The teaser aptly concludes as Anirudh proclaims, “This looks fearsome Nelsa! Let’s make this into a film!”
Within a mere 48 hours, the teaser collected more than 13 million views, justifying the unstoppable eagerness for Rajinikanth’s return as the invincible Jailer. With Mithun Chakraborty joining and other top-notch cameos, Jailer 2 is promising to be a cinematic experience of epic proportions.
