Tollywood’s most talked-about on-screen pair is finally reuniting. Vijay Deverakonda and Rashmika Mandanna are officially back together in the upcoming epic action drama Ranabaali, previously known as VD14. Their reunion comes seven years after Dear Comrade, a film that cemented their chemistry and fan following. Now, with a grand historical spectacle in the making — and ongoing buzz about their real-life relationship — excitement has skyrocketed across social media.
The makers unveiled the first look of Ranabaali on Monday, January 26, delivering a visually arresting introduction to Vijay’s character. The teaser shows him as a fierce warrior on horseback, dragging a British officer across unforgiving terrain. The raw imagery signals rebellion, rage, and resistance — setting the tone for a story that promises to revisit a buried chapter of Indian history.
Sharing the glimpse, Vijay wrote, “The British called him a ‘Savage.’ I do not disagree. He was OUR savage! Introducing the one and only RANABAALI. And setting the record straight on our history which they tried to bury.” His words made it clear that the film aims to reclaim narratives overshadowed by colonial accounts.
Set in the 19th century, Ranabaali draws inspiration from real events that occurred between 1854 and 1878, positioning itself as a large-scale period action drama centered on resistance against British rule. With intense battle sequences, emotional depth, and historical gravitas, the film is shaping up to be one of the most ambitious projects in Vijay’s career.
Rashmika Mandanna plays Jayamma, a pivotal role expected to bring emotional strength and historical significance to the narrative. International actor Arnold Vosloo joins the cast as Sir Theodore Hector, adding global weight to the colonial storyline. Acclaimed composers Ajay-Atul are crafting the music, promising a thunderous soundtrack to match the film’s epic scale.
Produced by Naveen Yerneni and Y. Ravi Shankar under Mythri Movie Makers and presented by T-Series, Ranabaali will be released in Telugu, Hindi, Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam. The theatrical release is locked for September 11, 2026.
Beyond cinema, Vijay and Rashmika continue to fuel headlines off-screen. Reports suggest the duo got engaged in October 2025 at Vijay’s Hyderabad residence in a private ceremony. Sources further claim they are planning a wedding on February 26 at a heritage palace in Udaipur, followed by a grand industry reception in Hyderabad. While the couple has not officially confirmed these details, their reunion in Ranabaali has only intensified public fascination — blending reel chemistry with real-life curiosity.
