Music director Amaal Mallik is making headlines on Bigg Boss 19, not only for his gameplay but also for his emotional discoveries within the house. During a touching conversation with fellow contestant Baseer Ali, Amaal revealed his family’s background, revealing intimately personal anecdotes that defined his life.
His Mother’s Struggles During Pregnancy
Amaal remembered the suffering his mother went through while she was pregnant with him, exposing the psychological and physical price of being in a joint family. “Meri mom ko bahut kuch sunaya gaya. they used to make her work a lot,” he explained. He told us that she once, frustrated by stress, hit her hand against a cupboard.
He called this “womb trauma,” describing how the difficulties his mother endured left an indelible mark on him. “She experienced all this to get us where we are today,” Amaal said, attributing his own inner toughness to his mother’s resolve.
A Painful Family Rivalry
Amaal also spoke about the professional rivalry between his dad Daboo Mallik and uncle Anu Malik. He recalled a poignant memory of his dad being deceived to believe he was getting a huge opportunity.
“My father was asked to record a song. We later realized it was an already three-year-old song sung by Udit Narayan. It was a mock recording,” he disclosed. The emotional costs were heavy—Amaal recalled his father taking confidence pills, wresting with rejection and betrayal.
“I Call Myself a Warrior”
In spite of the trauma, Amaal feels that these ordeals strengthened him. “All that my parents went through made me stronger. I like to term myself as a warrior,” he asserted confidently, depicting a new side of himself for audiences and fans everywhere.
