Awez Darbar’s unexpected eviction from Bigg Boss 18, just a day after Gauahar Khan visited the house to advise him, has stirred major controversy online. Netizens were quick to call his exit “unfair,” but fresh reports suggest there may be more behind his departure than meets the eye.
According to recent buzz, Awez’s family allegedly paid the show’s makers for a voluntary exit to avoid potential personal drama. Reportedly, the production team had plans to bring in Awez’s ex-girlfriend, Shubhi Joshi, as a wildcard contestant. To prevent any uncomfortable situations, especially following controversial remarks made by Baseer Ali and Armaan Malik, his family reportedly stepped in. Shubhi also confirmed in an interview that she and Awez were once in a relationship, which reignited old rumours about him cheating on his current partner, Nagma Mirajkar.
During her brief visit, Gauahar Khan—who is also Awez’s sister-in-law—offered him a reality check, urging him to be more vocal and involved in the game. “If you don’t fight your battle, who will? You stay silent when you should speak up,” she told him. Allegedly, after her segment, she inquired about the wildcard entry and, not receiving a clear response, informed the family—leading to Awez’s voluntary exit. As a result, the makers had host Salman Khan announce Neelam Giri as safe instead.

Awez was in the bottom three with Ashnoor Kaur and Pranit More before his exit was announced. His departure follows the eviction of his girlfriend, Nagma Mirajkar, who left the show two weeks ago.
Awez Darbar, a well-known content creator, has over 20.4 million followers on Instagram and 12.6 million YouTube subscribers. He is the son of music composer Ismail Darbar and the brother of Zaid Darbar, Gauahar Khan’s husband.
