Dipika Kakar recently shared an update about her health and said she had to undergo another operation after a 1.3 cm cyst reappeared near her liver. She is currently undergoing treatment for liver cancer. The return of the cyst has been emotionally difficult for her, and she said it has left her feeling shaken.
In her vlog, Dipika spoke about how the sudden relapse has made her feel anxious. Doctors are currently running tests and discussing the next steps in her treatment, which has added to her stress.
She also spoke about how her health has affected her daily life, especially her time with her son Ruhaan. She explained that due to weakness and hospital visits, she is not always able to follow a routine or spend as much time with him as she would like. She said, “My mind is occupied with numerous thoughts, and because of my illness, Shoaib has been overwhelmed with many responsibilities. At times, I cannot spend time with Ruhaan; when I feel tired, I simply rest. If I’m at the hospital, I can’t be with Ruhaan. When you are unwell, everything shifts: your routine alters, your priorities change, and your body requires rest.”
Dipika also spoke about staying strong during this time. She said, “In battling an illness, we must remain strong and optimistic. I want to emerge from this ordeal entirely. We’ve been talking about the next steps in treatment for a few days, but I didn’t anticipate this recurrence happening so quickly. New tests are underway, and physicians are having discussions; it can be quite overwhelming at times.”
Talking about the relapse, she added, “The reoccurrence of the 1.3 cm cyst has unsettled me. I feel somewhat frightened now that it must not occur again. I’ve begun dieting, yet I feel uneasy. One thing I have realised is that we women are more powerful than we believe we are. Our bodies are incredibly intricate; managing that every day deserves recognition.”
Dipika Kakar is married to Shoaib Ibrahim and the couple has a two year old son.
