Fresh off his victories in Bigg Boss 18 and Khatron Ke Khiladi 14, Karan Veer Mehra is now channeling his focus into his acting career. The actor is currently filming for Omung Kumar’s upcoming romantic action thriller Silaa, where he will be seen in a dark and intense avatar as the film’s antagonist, Zehraak.
Filming in One of the World’s Largest Caves
The film’s first schedule was shot in one of the world’s largest caves, which requires a three-day trek to access. Mehra shared with Times of India, “Only 13–14 people are allowed at a time. It’s a tough trek, but thanks to my experience in Khatron Ke Khiladi and growing up in a Mussoorie hostel, I was prepared.” The team also underwent martial arts and stunt training before the shoot. The actor is set to travel to Vietnam soon for the film’s second schedule, which also stars Harshvardhan Rane and Sadia Khateeb.
Focus on Craft Over Hype
Post-Bigg Boss, Mehra has taken a measured approach to his career. He avoided the quick fame route of music videos and app endorsements, instead enrolling in acting workshops to refine his skills. “Maybe that’s why this film came my way. I want to focus on meaningful roles,” he said.
Mehra acknowledged that such opportunities don’t come to every reality show contestant. “Had this happened earlier, I might not have valued it as much. It’s all transient — I need to keep working hard,” he reflected.
First Look of Zehraak Unveiled
In July, Mehra revealed his first look as Zehraak on Instagram, describing the character as “Khud hi khuda, khud hi insaaf.” The poster showed him in a fierce, bloodied, sword-wielding avatar. Silaa is directed by Omung Kumar and presented by Zee Studios.
