Munawar Faruqui’s Life in Danger: Goldy Brar Gang Shooters Arrested

Goldy Brar Gang's Latest Target: Comedian Munawar Faruqui

In a dramatic turn of events, two members of the Rohit Godara-Goldy Brar-Virender Charan gang were arrested following a gunfight with Delhi Police on Jaitpur-Kalindi Kunj Road on Thursday. The duo, identified as Rahul from Panipat and Sahil from Bhiwani in Haryana, were allegedly on a mission to assassinate stand-up comedian and reality TV star Munawar Faruqui.

According to police officials, the two suspects had been receiving direct instructions from gangster Rohit Godara, who is based abroad and operates closely with Canada-based gangster Goldy Brar and Virender Charan. Investigations reveal that the accused had conducted detailed reconnaissance in both Mumbai and Bengaluru to monitor Faruqui’s movements.

Faruqui, who rose to national fame after winning Bigg Boss in 2024, enjoys a massive fan following with over 14.2 million followers on Instagram. The police believe the conspiracy to eliminate him was part of a larger plan to assert dominance and instill fear on behalf of the gangster syndicate.

During the encounter, Rahul sustained a gunshot wound and was promptly taken to a hospital for treatment. Police confirmed that Rahul is also a wanted accused in a triple murder case in Yamunanagar, Haryana, dating back to December 2024. His involvement in that case had already put him on the radar of multiple law enforcement agencies.

The police recovered two firearms used during the exchange of fire, along with a motorcycle believed to be used by the suspects. A senior officer confirmed that further investigations are underway to trace the larger network connected to the murder plot.

Authorities have stepped up security around Faruqui, and the incident has once again spotlighted the deep reach of organised crime syndicates targeting public figures in India.
