Bollywood icon Salman Khan is back to host one of Indian television’s most talked-about reality shows Bigg Boss. Season 19 promises a fresh twist with its unique theme: ‘Gharwalon Ki Sarkaar’, shifting the power dynamics inside the Bigg Boss house like never before.
A Political Twist to Reality TV
On Thursday, JioCinema and JioHotstar released the official trailer for Bigg Boss 19, showcasing Salman Khan dressed as a politician inside a Parliament-inspired house. The new season, themed around democracy, will give housemates full control over major and minor decisions. In the trailer, Salman is heard saying, “Aisa pehli baar hua 18-19 saalon mein. This time, Bigg Boss won’t just be about drama, but about democracy.” The contestants will not only have authority but will also face consequences for their choices.
Power Unleashed, Truths Revealed
In a statement, Salman elaborated on the concept: “‘Gharwalon Ki Sarkaar’ means the power lies with the housemates. And when people get power, their true faces come out. This time, they can make all decisions, but with every decision comes a consequence.” He also hinted at the inevitable chaos, promising to return and take charge when things spiral out of control.
Who’s Entering the House?
The official list of contestants is yet to be revealed, but buzz suggests that Bigg Boss 10’s controversial contestant Priyanka Jagga might return. Other rumored participants include actor Ram Kapoor, content creator Apoorva Mukhija, and TV star Dheeraj Dhoopar.

Bigg Boss 19 will begin streaming on August 24 on JioHotstar at 9 PM and will air on Colors TV at 10:30 PM. With power in the contestants’ hands and Salman at the helm, this season is set to redefine reality television.
