Parth Samthaan, who recently made headlines with his entry as ACP Ayushmaan in CID Season 2, has confirmed his exit from the iconic crime series. The actor’s stint, originally planned as a guest appearance, was extended for a couple of months due to positive audience response. However, with Shivaji Satam’s much-anticipated return as the legendary ACP Pradyuman, Parth is stepping away from the show.
In an interview with Pinkvilla, Parth shared, “It’s been an absolute pleasure to be a part of a cult show like CID, even if it’s just for a brief period. I was on board for a few episodes only, but later got extended for a couple of months.” He further mentioned that they couldn’t confirm his role earlier as it would have spoiled a major twist involving a mole. With that storyline now approaching its reveal, Parth is ready to move on to other professional commitments.

The actor also revealed his initial hesitation in taking the role. Speaking to Hindustan Times, he admitted rejecting the role of ACP Pradyuman at first, saying, “I don’t relate to it. Plus, the idea of senior cast members addressing me as ‘sir’ felt unusual.” However, the makers convinced him to join, and the audience welcomed him warmly.
Parth shared a heartfelt post on April 17 with a promo introducing his character, calling the show “an integral part of our childhood and Indian television.” He expressed gratitude for being part of a series that made legends out of its original cast and marked this as his return to TV after five years.
The way they all assembled around him! He definitely has the ACP aura. @NetflixIndia @SonyTV Please don’t let him go!
