READY, Character Dheela Hai, and Salman Khan

Salman is able to do it, as he is more concerned about the fans and is least bothered about what his fraternity has to say about him. No wonder the song from READY has indeed caught the fancy of the nation and has emerged as one of the most downloaded songs during the last few days.

Trust Salman Khan to create a buzz when he is doing something in a cinema, as it has now started with the first song of READY, his next film starting him and Asin, 'Character Dheela hai'. Indeed, it is a poignant reminder of the times that character indeed is a product which can be purchased with relative ease, than what it was earlier.

Lots of comparisons are also being made that the famous stars that Salman has morphed into through the song, be it Raj Kapoor, or Dilip Kumar etc., is a takeoff from what Shah Rukh Khan had done in the case of RAB NE BANA DI JODI. But the writers also do not go into proper detailing, it seems. Salman had done this kind of reliance on the past along with Raveena Tandon in PATHAR KE PHOOL, with the song, 'Kabhi tu chaliya lagta hai', and then again in HUM AAPKE HAIN KAUN with the Antakshri that had indeed started the tradition of Antakshri in Hindi cinema.

Indeed it also a subtle retort from Salman to his detractors through this song, 'Character Dheela hai', as Salman Khan would probably be one of the rare few actors who flaunts whatever he does, throwing caution to the winds, but gets the flak as well, while others who indulge into these kind of activities maintain a façade of proprietary. Salman indeed has the guts to tell the world that people have this notion about him that his 'Character is Dheela', which other actor would have the conviction to say it through a song.

Salman is able to do it, as he is more concerned about the fans and is least bothered about what his fraternity has to say about him. No wonder the song from READY has indeed caught the fancy of the nation and has emerged as one of the most downloaded songs during the last few days. Not a single newspaper in town has had the guts not to cover the song, more so his adaptations of the songs from the yore. After all, still, after 25 years, nobody sells like hot cake as Salman does, and the audience is READY to savor his new offering with great anticipation.
