Akshay Kumar is set to star in Sarfira, a film directed by the critically acclaimed Sudha Kongara. This film is an official remake of the 2020 Tamil film Soorarai Pottru, which starred Suriya and was released directly on Amazon Prime Video. Suriya’s performance in the original received widespread acclaim from audiences.

The trailer for Sarfira showcases an inspiring story centered around Vir Mhatre, played by Akshay Kumar, who dreams of establishing a low-cost airline to make air travel accessible to every Indian, especially the underprivileged. His visionary business idea faces opposition from a character portrayed by Paresh Rawal, who is determined to prevent Vir’s dream from becoming a reality.

Set against the backdrop of the startup and aviation industries, Sarfira promises to be an incredible narrative of ambition, innovation, and perseverance. The film’s exploration of Vir Mhatre’s journey to revolutionize air travel reflects broader themes of entrepreneurship and the challenges faced by innovators.

Sarfira has generated considerable anticipation, especially after the release of its impressive first glimpse. This film is particularly important for Akshay Kumar, as his last two films did not perform well. The cast includes notable actors such as Paresh Rawal, Radhika Madan, and Seema Biswas in pivotal roles.

The story for Sarfira was crafted by Sudha Kongara and Shalini Ushadevi, with dialogues written by Pooja Tolani. The film is produced by Aruna Bhatia of Cape of Good Films, along with Suriya and Jyotika’s 2D Entertainment, and Vikram Malhotra-led Abundantia Entertainment. The eagerly awaited movie is scheduled for release on July 12.
