Quite on the expected lines, Karan Malhotra's Hrithik Roshan, Priyanka Chopra, Sanjay Dutt and Rishi Kapoor starrer, AGNEEPATH, has seen a huge opening extended weekend (4 days) and has netted in the range of 62-64 crore (to be validated).
Moving on to the details, after a record breaking first day (Thursday) of 22.50 crore, AGNEEPATH saw a big fall of 45-50 percent in its collections (with Friday being a working day). The drop was especially alarming in the North. Though, such trends are normal after a huge holiday opening day but not as much.
However, the third day saw a noticeable jump and Sunday was once again a bumper resulting in a huge weekend.
In the overseas, the first reports are in from US and the film has grossed a huge $1.15 million during the opening weekend (27-29 January).
Given the fact that AGNEEPATH has a total release cost of 72-75 crore, more than half of which has already been recovered from satellite and audio rights, it is sure to emerge a hit, at the least.
