Cocktail 2 continued its run at the Indian box office by collecting an estimated Rs. 1.55 crore nett on its second Tuesday. The film recorded a 15 per cent increase compared to Monday, taking its 5 day second week total to Rs. 14.15 crore nett. With this, the film’s overall India nett collection has reached Rs. 78.15 crore after 12 days in theatres.
Directed by Homi Adajania, the romantic comedy drama stars Shahid Kapoor, Kriti Sanon and Rashmika Mandanna in the lead roles. Based on its current performance, the film is expected to complete its second week with around Rs. 80 crore nett at the Indian box office. Trade estimates suggest that its lifetime collection could finish between Rs. 85 crore and Rs. 90 crore nett, although the final figures will depend on how well it performs in the coming days.
The film has shown steady collections during its second week, with a small increase on Tuesday after the usual weekday slowdown. This indicates that the movie is still attracting audiences, although at a slower pace than during its opening weekend.
The original Cocktail, released in 2012, earned around Rs. 74.50 crore nett in India and was considered a successful theatrical release. While Cocktail 2 has now crossed that number in terms of actual collections, comparisons with the earlier film are often made after adjusting for inflation. Because ticket prices and market conditions have changed over the years, the collections of the original film would be significantly higher in today’s value.
The day wise India nett collections of Cocktail 2 are as follows. The film earned Rs. 12.75 crore on Day 1, Rs. 15.50 crore on Day 2, Rs. 16.25 crore on Day 3, Rs. 5.75 crore on Day 4, Rs. 5.75 crore on Day 5, Rs. 4.50 crore on Day 6, Rs. 3.50 crore on Day 7, Rs. 3.25 crore on Day 8, Rs. 4.00 crore on Day 9, Rs. 4.00 crore on Day 10, Rs. 1.35 crore on Day 11 and an estimated Rs. 1.55 crore on Day 12.
With a total India nett collection of Rs. 78.15 crore, Cocktail 2 is now approaching the Rs. 80 crore mark. Its performance over the coming weeks will determine where it finishes at the domestic box office.
