Netflix is preparing to premiere its new drama series Four Hands, Two Sonatas on August 29. Set inside an elite arts high school for talented young musicians, the series follows two pianists whose lives become closely connected through their love for music. Their relationship develops through competition, friendship and personal struggles as they work towards becoming better musicians.
Song Kang plays Kang Pi o, a highly talented pianist who has spent most of his life working towards perfection. Known for his performances in Sweet Home and Love Alarm, Song Kang takes on a character who appears confident and successful on the outside. However, Pi o faces considerable pressure because of his strong desire to remain at the top.
His talent comes with personal difficulties. Although he seems to have complete control over his music and career, he secretly deals with anxiety and the expectations placed on him. His character is expected to show the less visible side of being a young musical prodigy.
Lee Jun Young plays Choi Jeong yo, a very different kind of pianist. Unlike Pi o, Jeong yo discovers his talent later and has had a difficult childhood. Despite his troubled past, he continues to follow his dream of becoming a pianist. His personality is more relaxed and open, allowing him to approach music in a different way.
The newly released teaser introduces the growing rivalry between the two students. They frequently challenge each other while playing the piano, and their disagreements become an important part of their relationship. At the same time, their competition pushes both of them to explore their abilities and improve their performances.
The story also looks at the emotional pressure faced by young people trying to succeed in a highly competitive environment. As Pi o and Jeong yo spend more time together, their rivalry gradually develops into a deeper connection.
Four Hands, Two Sonatas combines music, school life, friendship and personal growth. The series will premiere globally on Netflix on August 29.
