Surprising as it may sound but the audience has demonstrated once again that they have a mind of their own. The predominantly young cine-goers preferred T-Series’ YAARIYAN over the critically acclaimed DEDH ISHQIYA. Simply put YAARIYAN managed to connect with its target audience while DEDH ISHQIYA could not (at least on the opening day).
While both the film went at around 20-25 percent in the morning, by the latter shows it was the starless Divya Khosla Kumar directed YAARIYAN that picked up substantially to around 45-50 percent occupancies. Unfortunately the Abhishek Chaubey directed Naseer, Madhuri, Arshad and Huma starrer DEDH ISHQIYA did not show that much growth.

According to reliable sources, YAARIYAN, made at an approximate production cost of 10 crore and 9 crore P&A, earned around 6.5 crore on the opening day. On the other hand, DEDH ISHQIYA, which was reportedly made with a budget of 29 crore (production) and 12 crore P&A, managed to garner approximately 2.5 crore on its opening day.
Meanwhile, SHOLAY 3D (along with the original version) scored convincingly over MR. JOE B. CARVALHO netting 9 crore during the opening week, which is nearly double of what the Arshad-Soha starrer netted.

Concluding with Yash Raj Films’ DHOOM 3, the film added another 20 crore thereby netting 260 crore (just from the Hindi version) in three weeks from India and is an all-time blockbuster.
