The UP government announced the exemption of entertainment (granting tax free status) to the national award winning, KATIYABAAZ.
An official spokesperson from the chief minister’s office announced the tax exemption, and the icing on the cake is the advice by CM Akhilesh Yadav to the principal secretary, power, that the film be viewed by engineers of the power department to draw inspiration for stopping illegal connections.
The Deepti Kakkar and Fahad Mustafa directed KATIYABAAZ, featuring Loha Singh and Ritu Maheshwari, opened to rave reviews last Friday.
Here is hoping that other states too, which face almost the same problem of power theft, draw a leaf from the UP government and make the inspirational KATIYABAAZ tax free in their states as well.
