Shahid Kapoor’s Deva is one of the most awaited films, hitting theaters on January 31, 2025. Directed by Rosshan Andrrews, this action thriller also stars Pooja Hegde and Pavail Gulati. Earlier slated for a release on February 14, this movie has been moved to January 31.
Advance bookings for Deva had begun the night of January 29, 2025. In fact, around 4,500 tickets had already been sold for its opening day from top national chains like PVR, Inox, and Cinepolis. Though quite moderate by early pre-sales, this fact must not be overlooked: Those movies like Deva claim great sections of their audience to be impulse buyers. The industry estimates around 15,000 to 25,000 tickets being sold on the first day.
In this, Shahid plays the role of Dev Ambre, a morally ambiguous character with various shades of gray. The backdrop is set against Mumbai. Censor Board approval brings the movie to a U/A certification status, and its running time is nearly 156 minutes.
Box office reports predict that Deva is expected to start with collections from ₹5 crore to ₹6 crore nett in India, dependent heavily on spot bookings and walk-in audiences. The film is also in competition with Sky Force, which is in its second weekend and could attract a lot of audiences.
The fate of Deva depends on good word of mouth and the extent to which it meets with audience expectations. If the film is liked, it might get a terrific boost in its post-release run.
