Veteran actor Boman Irani makes his much-anticipated directorial debut with The Mehta Boys, a heartwarming drama exploring the complexities of a father-son relationship. The recently released trailer has generated significant buzz, giving audiences a glimpse into the emotional rollercoaster that awaits.
Starring Boman Irani, Avinash Tiwary, and Shreya Chaudhary, the movie takes us through communication and inter-generational interpretation struggles. Boman Irani plays a strict yet well-meaning father, while Avinash Tiwary essays the role of his conflicted son, Amay. Shreya Chaudhary is enjoying some momentum with Bandish Bandits Season 2; her interpretation as Zara, for Amay’s supporting girlfriend, shall be mostly required in the scenes.
The much-awaited 2-minute 26-second trailer touches the heart with emotional fight, misunderstanding, and bonding between a father and son. Besides highlighting awkwardness, vulnerability, and generational disconnection, it speaks to the audience, holding them transfixed.
Produced by Boman Irani, Danesh Irani, Vikesh Bhutani, and Shujaat Saudagar, THE MEHTA BOYS boasts an exceptional script from the academy award winner Alex Dinelaris Jr. who wrote Birdman and The Revenant. The film has already got accolades at several international film festivals like IFFSA Toronto and 15th Chicago South Asian Film Festival.
With an interesting narrative and superb performances, The Mehta Boys is sure to leave its mark when it debuts on Amazon Prime Video on February 7, 2025. The devoted father-son saga will come alive, a promise made true for the film’s directorial debut of Boman Irani.
