Ram Charan’s Cricketing debut: ‘Peddi’ first shot glimpse leaves fans speechless

Ram Charan is all set to star in the much-awaited Telugu film Peddi. On the occasion of Ram Navami, the makers unveiled a sneak peek of the actor in the movie. The video, titled Peddi First Shot, introduces Ram Charan in a rugged, rural look, landing in a rustic area and exuding confidence. Seen smoking a beedi, his character speaks about his life philosophy, stating: “Edaina ee nela mida unnapude seseyala” (I must do whatever I want as long as I’m alive).

The glimpse highlights the rural backdrop of the film but keeps Ram Charan’s character details under wraps, except for a glimpse of his love for cricket. The teaser ends with him hitting a cricket ball out of the park, drawing cheers from a crowd. Fans have responded with immense excitement, with one fan saying, “Wow.. Goosebumps,” while others compared the vibe to Rangasthalam.

Title and Look Revealed

Previously titled RC 16, Peddi marks Ram Charan’s 16th film. On his 40th birthday, two posters were released, showcasing the actor’s rugged look, with one of them featuring him holding a cricket bat. His new look has been compared to various famous characters, such as Vijay Deverakonda’s Arjun Reddy and Allu Arjun’s Pushpa Raj. Some even draw parallels to his character from Rangasthalam, highlighting the gritty, intense vibe of his new role.

Film Details

Directed by Buchi Babu Sana, Peddi also stars Janhvi Kapoor, Shiva Rajkumar, Divyendu Sharma, and Jagapathi Babu. The film’s music is composed by AR Rahman, with R Rathnavelu handling the cinematography. Produced by Venkata Satish Kilaru, filming began in Hyderabad last year and will continue throughout 2025. This film marks Janhvi Kapoor’s second Telugu movie after Devara: Part 1, and Divyendu’s debut in Tollywood. The official release date of the film has yet to be revealed, but fans are eagerly anticipating its arrival.
