The much-awaited Celebrity MasterChef has reached an exciting finale with the hot favourite Gaurav Khanna, the handsome actor of Anupamaa, being crowned the winner of the first season. Gaurav, who won hearts with his unforgettable journey which was filled with ups and downs, took home the much-coveted Chef’s trophy, a Rs 20 lakh cash award, and the honour of the Chef’s coat.
A Journey of Growth and Resilience
From the beginning, starting with the episode where his dish was slammed as “uneatable,” to eventually becoming the strongest contender, Gaurav’s journey has been remarkable. The actor, who had a baptism of fire, faced his share of challenges, but his determination, passion for cooking, and openness to learn saw him through and made him a popular favorite. He was also awarded Chef Ranveer Brar’s legendary knife, a testament to his cooking evolution.
Looking back at his win, Gaurav said, “Winning Celebrity MasterChef feels totally surreal. This show put me completely out of my comfort zone. Cooking with legends like Chef Vikas Khanna, a Michelin-starred chef, Chef Ranveer Brar, and the indefatigable Farah Khan has been a huge privilege.” He also noted the value of persistence, adding, “It’s been an honor to be competing with such great and hardworking fellow co-contestants who inspired me every day with their passion and perseverance.”

In the grand finale, Nikki Tamboli was the first runner-up, and the second runner-up was Tejasswi Prakash. Rajiv Adatia and Faisal Shaikh (Faisu) also reached the top five. The show had a mixed batch of contestants such as Dipika Kakar, Archana Gautam, Usha Nadkarni, Kabita Singh, Abhijeet Sawant, Ayesha Jhulka, and Chandan Prabhakar, who all made an impression with their own special cooking styles.
