After the blockbuster success of Pathaan, Shah Rukh Khan and director Siddharth Anand are teaming up once again for an action-packed entertainer titled King. The much-anticipated project also stars Deepika Padukone in the lead, marking yet another exciting reunion for the iconic duo. Joining them in pivotal roles are Abhishek Bachchan, Suhana Khan, Arshad Warsi, and Abhay Verma. The film is currently in its pre-production phase and is scheduled to begin filming in Mumbai between May 18 and May 20.
Anil Kapoor Roped in as SRK’s Handler
In a major casting update, veteran actor Anil Kapoor has been confirmed to play a key role in King. As per exclusive information from Pinkvilla, Kapoor will portray the handler and mentor to Shah Rukh Khan’s character, who is an assassin in the film. A source close to the project shared, “There were multiple actors in contention, but the team unanimously felt that Anil Kapoor fits the role perfectly. He is thrilled to collaborate with Shah Rukh in this mega-budget venture.”

A Global Action Thriller with Emotional Depth
King is designed as a high-octane action thriller with a blend of emotional depth and rooted storytelling. The film is slated for a 100-day shooting schedule across India and Europe, with the first international schedule taking place shortly after the Mumbai shoot begins.
The narrative promises a fresh take on Shah Rukh Khan, showcasing him in a raw and intense avatar. Deepika and SRK are romantically paired in the film, with their dynamic expected to add a compelling emotional arc.
