Bollywood’s power couple Vicky Kaushal and Katrina Kaif have expressed their excitement for Diljit Dosanjh’s upcoming thriller “Detective Sherdil”, which is set to premiere on Zee5 on June 20. The duo recently took to Instagram to praise the trailer of the film, adding buzz to an already intriguing project.
Katrina shared the trailer on her Instagram Stories and wrote, “Looks like so much fun…Superb team @diljitdosanjh.” Meanwhile, Vicky Kaushal called it a “Mazzedaar trailer” and extended his best wishes to the film’s team.
A Thrilling Premise and Unconventional Detective
Directed by Ravi Chhabriya, “Detective Sherdil” introduces Diljit Dosanjh as an astute and eccentric investigator. The story kicks off with the shocking death of flamboyant billionaire Pankaj Bhatti, played by Boman Irani, in Budapest. While initial evidence hints at a hate crime, the case soon takes a sinister turn involving hidden family secrets, financial conspiracies, and betrayals.
Teaming up with Natasha, played by Diana Penty, Detective Sherdil navigates a high-stakes investigation filled with twists and psychological depth. Natasha is portrayed as a composed, logical detective, providing a sharp contrast to Sherdil’s quirky methods.
Star-Studded Ensemble and Complex Characters
In addition to Diljit and Diana, the film features a stellar ensemble cast including Boman Irani, Ratna Pathak Shah, Chunky Panday, Sumeet Vyas, Banita Sandhu, and Kashmira Irani.
Boman Irani spoke about his role as Pankaj Bhatti, noting that the character’s power extends beyond his on-screen presence. “He’s built an empire, but it’s his inner turmoil and unspoken regrets that make him truly compelling,” he shared.
Diana Penty described Natasha as one of her most grounded roles. “She thrives on logic, structure, and precision. Putting her in the chaos of a mysterious murder case makes it all the more exciting,” she added.
