The long-awaited war drama Border 2, starring an ensemble cast including Sunny Deol, Varun Dhawan, Diljit Dosanjh, and Ahan Shetty, is underway with its third schedule of shooting at the National Defence Academy (NDA), Pune. The location has been converted into an energetic battlefield scene, filled with power, discipline, and brotherhood.
Varun’s Viral Moment with Army Cadets
A behind-the-scenes clip with Varun Dhawan has gone viral, depicting the actor indulging in an off-the-cuff push-up challenge with actual army cadets. What was initially a 20-push-up challenge turned into a friendly competition, where in no time, Varun found himself doing 50 knuckle push-ups and 30–40 cadets. His youthful vigor and playful competitiveness elicited cheers from not only the film crew but also the cadets. Uploading the clip on social media, Varun captioned it: “BORDER2 Hamare saare young cadets ke saath knuckle challenge.”

A Crucial Schedule in the Making
This NDA schedule is the pivotal leg of the making of the film, filming high-impact scenes and genuine military brotherhood. Varun had previously expressed his pride in working on this project, saying on X: “To have a role in Border 2… is a very, very special moment in my career. And I get to work with Sunny Paaji, so that makes it all the more special.”

Produced by Anurag Singh, Border 2 is coming from Gulshan Kumar & T-Series in association with JP Dutta’s JP Films. Supported by producers Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar, JP Dutta, and Nidhi Dutta, the film is going to be India’s largest war drama, continuing the legacy of 1997’s hit Border.
Border 2 is scheduled to be released on a Republic Day weekend on January 23, 2026.
