The much-anticipated trailer for The Bengal Files is finally out, and it delivers a powerful punch. Produced by Vivek Ranjan Agnihotri, Abhishek Agarwal, and Pallavi Joshi, the film is the latest addition to Agnihotri’s impactful Files series, following The Kashmir Files and The Tashkent Files. With the chilling line, “If Kashmir hurt you, Bengal will haunt you,” the trailer sets the tone for another intense cinematic experience.
Revealing Bengal’s Political Past’s Hidden Truths
Against the history of violent politics of West Bengal, The Bengal Files tries to bring to light the longest covered-up Hindu genocide. Disturbing but impactful dialogues, such as, “Yeh Paschim Bangal hai, yaha do constitution chalta hai,” and “Sirf Zameen ka tukda nahi, Bharat ka light house hai Bangal,” are used in the trailer. The story wonders why India still suffers from communal politics despite 80 years of independence.
The movie features National Award-winning artists Pallavi Joshi, Mithun Chakraborty, Anupam Kher, and Darshan Kumaar, who perform vividly to vividly portray the agonizing realities depicted in the film.
“A Wake-Up Call” – Filmmakers Speak Out
At the trailer release in Kolkata, director Vivek Agnihotri called the film “a wake-up call” and added, “We will not let Bengal become another Kashmir.” Pallavi Joshi shared his views, referring to the film as “a face of reality the nation needs to confront.
Mithun Chakraborty further said, “This is what cinema has to be — it’s for the people.” Producer Abhishek Agarwal stressed how the discovery of concealed truths is crucial, saying, “Silence in the face of atrocities is a greater injustice.”
